Found February 15, 2012 on Turn On The Jets:
The New York Jets don’t have many of their own free agents to be worried about this off-season. It would be nice to bring Robert Turner back for offensive line depth, along with Jim Leonhard and Bryan Thomas on veteran minimum deals to provide insurance on defense. However, there is one move that Mike Tannenbaum absolutely needs to take care of and that is bringing Sione Pouha back. I am aware the Jets don’t have excessive cap space but Tannenbaum needs to do some of that cap maneuvering he is so well known for to keep the Jets nose tackle. Rex Ryan’s defense needs a run stopper in the middle and Pouha has been the perfect fit the past few years. Kenrick Ellis showed last year that he is far from ready to be an every down player and Pouha, despite being 33, should still have 3-4 very good seasons left in him considering he has only been a full time player the past three years of his seven year career. More importantly, Pouha is one of the few leaders left in the Jets locker room. He is a player who actually deserved the “C” on his chest last year. In the lockout extended off-season, he took the entire defensive line under his wing for workouts and helped guide them to a surprisingly productive year despite largely being a young and unproven group. The Jets cannot keep letting leaders…and productive leaders at that, walk from their team. Pouha must be brought back in 2012 if this team is going to take steps towards improving their fractured locker room and 8-8 record.

Rex Ryan: Giants SB46 win isn't extra motivation

If Rex Ryan is seething inside after watching the team he doesn’t want to take a back seat to win Super Bowl XLVI, he’s sure hiding it well.

Rex Ryan planning on getting a Super Bowl ring, quickly

Think an 8-8 record would get Rex Ryan to stop talking about winning a Super Bowl? Think again. At a function on Wednesday night, Ryan displayed the Super Bowl ring he earned as an assistant with the Ravens and said he expects to earn another as head coach of the Jets, and to do it…

Rex: Giants' ring doesn't add motivation

If Rex Ryan is bothered that the team he doesn't want to play second fiddle to is basking in its Super Bowl XLVI glow, he sure is hiding it well.

Brandon Jacobs willing to play for the Jets

Earlier today we reported that New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs is willing to take a pay cut, in order to come back next season to try and win another Super Bowl. Jacobs also stated he wouldn’t be against playing for the Jets and head coach Rex Ryan, according to Sam Borden of the New York Times. Despite Jacobs’ outburst towards Ryan after December’s win over the...

Rex just Super sighs

Rex Ryan said nothing — not even the Giants’ Super Bowl championship — can get his team more motivated than it already is. In his first public appearance since the Giants took home Super Bowl XLVI, the Jets coach was a guest at yesterday’s Long Island Association meeting and luncheon. The...

Giants-Patriots Super Bowl was hard for Jets' Rex Ryan to swallow

But coach says Giants' victory have sparked Jets' motivation for next season

Brandon Jacobs open to playing for Jets after ripping Rex Ryan

Overpaid players like Brandon Jacobs just don’t get it sometimes. When the team you are currently playing could decide you aren’t worth the nearly $5 million they would have to pay to retain you, it’s best to not burn any bridges across the league. That is especially true for someone like Jacobs, who won’t exactly have teams lining up to extend an offer. Just a couple of...

Rex refuses to speculate on Peyton's place

On Wednesday, inside the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, Rex Ryan, dressed in a dark suit and gold tie, wore his Super Bowl ring and made his first public appearance since the Giants claimed their fourth Lombardi trophy.
