The New York Jets have shocked many people around the NFL with their 2-1 start this season.
Geno Smith is doing everything he can to gain the respect of his teammates
Many people had the Jets down and out before the season even started. People predicted the Jets would end up being the worst team in the league when the regular season came to its completion. However, the New York Jets have fought their way to 2-1. With a rookie quarterback and question marks about their offensive weapons, the Jets offense is ranked 10th in total offense after the first three weeks of the seasons.
The Jets are averaging 18.3 points-per-game and rank 6th in the NFL in rushing. Bilal Powell has had a huge impact so far this season, especially last week against Buffalo. With each game, Geno Smith will only learn more and progress giving the Jets something to look forward to in the future. The biggest concern with the Jets offense is the minus 6 takeaway/ giveaway ratio. If Smith can eliminate turnovers (6 interceptions) the Jets defense will keep them in games and give them an opportunity to win.
The Jets defense had some concerns coming into the season. The Jets lost leader Bart Scott and star corner Darrelle Revis. However, the Jets young defense has been exceptional so far this season. The Jets rank 3rd in the NFL in total defense, 7th against the pass and 6th against the run. Quinton Coples returned last week in a limited role, and is only expected to help this defense improve throughout season.
The Jets get the Tennesse Titans on the road this week before a very tough stretch before the bye week. This game is crucial for the Jets. The Jets next five games, At Atlanta, home against Pittsburgh, home against New England, at Cincinnati and home against New Orleans.
BEST OF MAXIM
Former Louisville running back Bilal Powell had the best game of his young NFL career this past Sunday for the New York Jets.
Powell rushed for 149-yards on 27 carries as the Jets defeated the Buffalo Bills 27-20.
He was named the starting running back for the Jets prior to the regular season, but most felt that it was strictly due to Chris Ivory’s nagging hamstring injury...
The Turn On The Jets film room is back to break down the New York Jets passing game in their 27-20 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Today we focus on the team’s success with the deep ball as Geno Smith connected on four passes of 40 yards or longer, two to Stephen Hill and two to Santonio Holmes. Let’s go to the tape and see how the Jets successfully executed these big plays....

What have been your early impressions of Geno Smith?

Last week: 29 (+4)
The Jets have plenty of problems, but they have one of the best front 7s in football. The 8 sacks they had against the Bills were no fluke. Damon Harrison and Demario Davis have broken out as first year starters, while David Harris, who was at one point a great player, is having a huge bounce back year. And that doesn’t even include recent 1st rounders Muhammad...
The New York Jets refurbished running back group may lose one of its cogs. Jets running back, Chris Ivory, injured his hamstring in the Jets’ win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday and could be out for some time.Dan Hanzus of NFL.com tells us that Ivory injured the same hamstring in training camp. However, the first injury to the hamstring was in a different location on the...
The New York Jets bounced back nicely after a tough division loss against New England, outplaying the Buffalo Bills for the majority of Sunday’s matchup. Don’t let the score fool you, the Jets handled the Bills and won the battle in the trenches on both sides of the ball. If Vlad Ducasse and Kyle Wilson not committed 9 penalties amongst themselves, the final score might have...
Let me say something that many people, including great football minds, did not think they would hear. The New York Jets are 2-1.In reality, they could be 3-0 if they protected the ball against the New England Patriots in Week 2.But, something tells me that the team is content with their record. It does not matter who they played or how ugly the wins have been, the team is playing...
Check out the week 4 edition of the Turn On The Jets Podcast. We review the New York Jets win over Buffalo and preview their upcoming showdown versus Tennessee. Chris Lopresti of WFAN also stops by to discuss the team and their expectations for the rest of the season.
The Jets were supposed to be awful this year, but they aren't so bad. The defense is a lot better than I expected and Geno Smith is a better game manager than Mark Sanchez.
After a blazing hot 27-5 start to the season, I fell to the earth with a 7-9 Week 3. I'm still challenging the ESPN Experts for the lead and I plan to take them down.
Early in the season...
Don't tell Santonio Holmes that he’s back.
Holmes who missed most of last season with a Lisfranc injury in his left foot maintained that he is not yet fully healthy despite hauling in a career-high 154 receiving yards in Sunday’s 27-20 victory over the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium.
“I still have a long way to go” Holmes said.
Holmes has continued to develop a rapport...
QB Geno Smith: Geno is coming out of week 3 having just put up 345 total yards and 3 total td’s. This week he faces the Titans and Tennessee has been pretty good against qb’s this year, but with the versatile Bilal Powell in the backfield and the emergence of Santonio Holmes, Geno has a good opportunity for continued success this week. The Jets defense should force additional...
The New York Jets are relatively healthy heading into a Week 4 contest against the Tennessee Titans, but starting running back Chris Ivory and starting defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson did not practice with the team on Wednesday
- Below is a photo of Lilian Garcia singing the National Anthem at Sunday’s New York Jets NFL game. When the Jets have Lilian singing at their games, they are 8-1. Lilian told WWE.com that she would like to sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl next year.
- Booker T will be acting as special referee for the main events of all three WWE live events in the United Arab Emirates...
The New York Jets committed 20 penalties for 168 yards on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills and now the team is paying the price for its mental errors in practice.
