The Jets wanted to draft Geno Smith with the 13th overall pick, but decided to bulk up the defense in key areas.  The Jets were very fortunate to have Smith fall into their hands with the 39th selection.  By selecting Smith in the second round, the Jets have all but announced that the era of Mark Sanchez is over, and Tebow is now on the trade block. Sanchez was simply a horrible quarterback marred by inconsistent tendencies and plenty of mental errors.  The Jets fans have been calling for his head for three seasons, and Tim Tebow was not the savior the Jets assumed he would become when they obtained him from the Broncos, the very team that wasted a first round pick on Tebow. Tebow did have a storied college career, but he doesn’t have the arm nor the tangibles to be anything but a back up or 3rd string QB.  The Broncos risked a first round pick on him, just for a front office change that did not think very highly of Tebow.  He spent that season taking the Broncos to the playoffs b...

Report: Tim Tebow cut

According to a report from the NY Post, Tim Tebow has be cut by the New York Jets as of Monday morning. Though he showed up 15LBs lighter to volunatary workouts which began last week, and an improved throwing motion, the disaster that was Tim Tebow in New York is no longer. Is Geno Smith’s skin thick enough to survive in New York?

With the release of Tim Tebow the New York Jets have one fewer distraction in their quarterback ranks heading into offseason work for the 2013 season. Judging by the recent behaviour of their new addition to the position that might be a good thing. While both relatively innocuous incidents his decision to depart (and then to change his mind) the draft last week coupled with the firing...

Guest Post: How the Jets can be competitive in '13

After a pretty successful draft, the buzz surrounding the New York Jets is back. Fans of the team are already penciling in Geno Smith as the starting quarterback, and it seems likely to happen. The question is, can a few nice rookies really turn the ship around for the Jets after a pretty dreadful 2012 campaign? Last season, the Jets excelled on defense, while struggling quite...

Tim Tebow is first casualty of Geno Smith to Jets

So it begins. ESPN and other media outlets report that the New York Jets released little-used quarterback Tim Tebow this morning, leaving the team with five quarterbacks on the roster. New York's little brother team might have cut less heralded Greg McElroy, Matt Simms, or, um. Mark Sanchez. Instead they excised the most useless outsider in NFL history. None...

It seems as if he has entered the restaurant business. According to...

2013 NFL Draft: Round One Fantasy Football Analysis

The first round is in the books.  And what a round it was! For the first time in nearly fifty years, no first round running back was selected.  The top two quarterbacks on many a list, Geno Smith and Mark Barkley, did not hear their names called.  The over-hyped Manti Te’o wasn’t drafted, either.  Unless you play at or near the line of scrimmage, there’s a strong chance...
