Pete gets to face Sanchez
Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets come into CenturyLink Field on Sunday to face off against Sanchez’s former head coach, Pete Carroll of the Seattle Seahawks.
Matchup: New York vs. Seattle
Venue: CenturyLink Field
Time: 1:05 (local)
Date: November 11th, 2012
Weather: 47 high. 40 low. Cold and cloudy
Team Records: Seattle (5-4) New York (3-5)
Standings: Seahawks 2nd NFC West. Jets 3rd AFC East
The Sanchez/ Carroll reunion won’t be the only one of the weekend though, brothers Marcus, and Isaiah Trufant face off against each other on the field in Seattle, while their little brother Desmond will play on Saturday at the Clink for the Washington Huskies.
Game notes/How they match up
This game will be a tale of two teams heading in different directions.
All of us Seahawks fans have hoped for the post season ever since training camp, but at least none of us have been stupid enough to guarantee a playoff spot on national TV like the Jets Antonio Cromartie did.
This is just a little extra fodder for the 12th man on Sunday, to go along with all of the other little side battles between brothers, and ex Trojans.
This one should be a breeze for the Seahawks, especially if the offense is in tune like it was last weekend.
Veterans Day pregame festivities will be taking place on both the field, and in the stands for this game, which always brings out some extra emotions in the players and fans alike.
Somehow I doubt they will be this cordial on Sunday. (Photo: Yahoo)
What to watch: Seattle
Now that we have seen what the Seahawks offense is capable of, will we get greedy and hope for that every week?
This week for sure we should all hope for that sort of game out of our Hawks.
But the biggest threat now is how our defense will be.
The Jet’s aren’t the Vikings, or even the Lions for that matter, but they do have a couple options that can burn us if we let them.
Mainly Tim Tebow. Everybody knows that when he is on the field for a fake punt, he is getting the ball on a direct snap. How teams can let them get yards on that is beyond me.
What to watch: New York
Just how much pressure will Mark Sanchez put on himself to show Pete Carroll how wrong he was to question him leaving USC early?
Hopefully a lot. Unforced errors have killed the Jets all year long, and I foresee a few of them happening again on Sunday.
The Jets defense was supposed to be the pride of the NFL this year, well, at least to Rex Ryan that is.
Unfortunately, neither the offense or the defense of the Jets has been up to par so far this season. Hopefully they don’t pick Sunday to turn it around.

Seattle O vs. New York D
As mentioned above, the Jets defense is not the beast that many thought they would be.
The Seahawks need to exploit this early, and with both Marshawn Lynch and the passing game on point, there shouldn’t be a problem there.
New found super star WR Golden Tate is having a career year for the Hawks in 2012, and Sidney Rice is finally showing up to play as well.
Russell Wilson now seems to have two very capable options at the WR position at this point in this season.
New York O vs. Seattle D
The Jets two biggest weapons on offense are RB Shonn Green, and WR Jeremy Kerley. Not the two biggest names in the NFL, but both can be very dangerous at times.
I don’t think they will be too big of a nuisance for the Hawks D, but you just never know.
Of course the biggest weapon on D is once again the 12th man, and Mark Sanchez has enough trouble with his offense as it is.
And of course there is the trick play element for the Jets when they use Tim Tebow under center. But once again, these plays seem obvious to me, I don’t understand how any teams could have problems with it.
The injury report had not been listed at time of article.
The Seahawks are once again favorites at home, this time we are 6 point favorites. With the way this team played last week, this shouldn’t be a problem.

While Mark Sanchez and the Jets are aiming to rebound from a disappointing first half of the season, the New York/New Jersey area is still suffering the ill effects from Superstorm Sandy.
BY NICK ST. DENISLack of physicality by the New York Jets two weeks ago resulted in a major-league beating at the hands of the Miami Dolphins. If Gang Green is that soft this week, things could get much uglier. The Jets travel to Seattle Sunday to face a Seahawks defense that pulls no punches."Great edge pass rushers, they're tough in the middle as well, great front seven...
Mark Sanchez was almost a Seahawk. When he was available in the draft back in 2009, the Seahawks supposedly were strongly considering him. They instead went with a guy considered to be a safe bet, in linebacker Aaron Curry. Curry didn’t work out for the Seahawks and they eventually traded him to the Raiders for a pair of picks. Curry didn’t do much in Seattle and spent most of...
The Jets' front office can't seem to get enough offensive lineman to protect quarterback Mark Sanchez. Add Hayworth Hick's name to the list of the newest members of the Green and White.

The Turn On The Jets 12 pack is back to kick off your weekend. Personally, I am in an extra jovial mood this Friday. Outside of the Boomer and Carton shout out, they are serving free BBQ in my office today. Anybody can order free pizza or sandwiches, but free BBQ? That is a job well...
The 3-5 New York Jets have an embattled GM, a coaching staff searching for answers, and a fan base wondering where the talent and depth filled “Goddamn Snack” squads of 2009 and 2010 went. Gang Green must go 6-2 in order to have a probable shot at a postseason berth. Here are five keys needed in order to make it happen.

Chris Gross - Prediction: Seahawks 23 Jets 13 – The Jets enter week 10 heading into a hostile environment at CenturyLink Field. Seattle utilizes their 12th man like no other team in the NFL, making CenturyLink a nightmare for opposing teams.
