Rex Ryan escaping from the bulls in Spain this week. 1. This week Mark Sanchez was interviewed by ESPN New York about the quarterback competition between himself and Geno Smith that will take place in training camp. Sanchez seemed very confident and told ESPN New York that he will win the job. “I’m going to win the job, that’s just how I am,” Sanchez said. Sanchez stated that he is the same player that led the Jets to back-to-back AFC Championship games in his first two seasons. Sanchez believes the Jets have the potential to have a very good team this year, and thinks he will make all the plays the Jets need him to make in order for the team to win. 2. This week Mark Sanchez held his annual ‘Jets West’ practices for all skill players to attend. One player that will not be attending is Geno Smith. Smith had gone back and forth deciding whether or not to attend Sanchez’s camp and has ultimately decided not to. Smith instead has been in Florida working with old college teammates Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey. It will be interesting to see if Smith’s absence has any effect on his progression and timing during training camp. 3. After Mark Sanchez was taking shirtless photos on Twitter and Vine earlier this off season, Rex Ryan decided to have a little fun himself. Ryan was in Pamplona, Spain this week and took part in the famous ‘running with the bulls.’  Ryan had to climb the fence to escape an oncoming bull. Ryan survived the event and will now, hopefully, concentrate on getting the Jets back into the playoffs.
