Eli Going Back Home Where Brees is New Favorite Son Two teams in the thick of the NFC playoff race will meet this coming Monday night. The Giants (6-4) are currently tied with Dallas for first place in the NFC East while the New Orleans Saints enter Week 12 with a 7-3 record and a one-game lead on Atlanta in the NFC South. Eli Manning returns to his hometown and the site where his father, Archie, played quarterback for the Saints (1971-82). Manning leads the NFL with a 120.5 passer rating in the fourth quarter this season, throwing for 1,081 yards and 10 touchdowns. “Obviously, we have to go win,” says Manning on the importance of this game. “That is always going to be the case since we have a tough road ahead. We have a good team coming up this week and we just have to find ways to play more consistent football throughout the game.” The Saints are coming off a bye in Week 11. New Orleans has won two in a row and the team is a perfect 4-0 at home. Quarterback Drew Brees leads the N...

Fantasy football: Expect Falcons’ Matt Ryan to feast on Vikings

Wondering whether or not to start Drew Brees and Mike Wallace, or to bench Tyler Palko and Patrick Crayton? The network bozos specialize in that kind of advice. If you’re looking for help with your real starting lineup conundrums, read on. Here are my picks to roll, and get rolled, in Week 12.

The Eli Manning Face & Erin Andrews Gets Baylor Bukkake

Why is Eli Manning giving us his “Peyton stole my 1989 Griffey Jr. Upper Deck rookie card,” face this morning? Well, his Giants had a chance last night to seize control of the NFC East, yet couldn’t beat Vince Young. Bad loss, brah. And on the right we have Erin Andrews after a Baylor Bukkake® post-Bears miraculous victory over Oklahoma. The tale of two faces. One giving...

Manningham, CJ2K Week 11 fantasy flops

Can I eliminate a ton of writing by just indicting the state of New York? Seriously, I can spew off a few thousand words to dissect the abject failures that were the efforts of the Giants, Jets and Bills in Week 11. I could, but I'll let the scribes in New York painstakingly take you through the play-by-plays and fallout from these losses and the large-scale ramifications. Instead...

Captain’s Corner: Eli, Tuck on State of the Giants

The Giants may be on the verge of another late-season collapse. The leadership team of Eli Manning and Justin Tuck are fully aware of the team’s recent history and are safeguarding themselves from the fallout if the Giants – who began the season with 6-2 record, fail to make the postseason for the third consecutive year… Q: How much concern is there with six games left? Tuck...

Eli Won’t Forget ’09 Thrashing by Saints

from James Varney of the Times-Picayune.. “The New York football Giants strutted to New Orleans in October 2009 undefeated and ready to be crowned the best team in football. Instead, they were embarrassed by a New Orleans Saints team that, events culminating in Super Bowl XLIV would prove, actually was the best team in football. Giants quarterback and New Orleans native Eli Manning...

Andrew Luck Might Not Love Idea of Sitting Behind Peyton Manning, Could Force Pre-Draft Trade

Now that the Colts are in a one-team race for the services of Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, it's worth wondering if Indianapolis is even an appealing destination for the certain No. 1 draft pick. Earlier this season, NFL Network reported there's some fear in the league that Luck could demand a trade to avoid playing for a particular team at the top of the draft board...

Giants report card

OFFENSE (F) Coach Tom Coughlin called the rushing attack “pathetic,” and he was being kind. Line was brutal, offering no protection for Eli Manning (18 of 35, 264 yards), who was off the mark and under duress. Victor Cruz (6-128, 1 TD) was the lone bright spot. Brandon Jacobs (12-21...

Giants lay huge egg against the Birds

Chris Canty summed up Sunday night’s game against the Eagles best. “We got punched in the mouth and didn’t do anything about it,” Canty said. Between showing no life, dropping key passes, playing with no urgency and just playing a flat out ugly game, there is only so much that can be said about this effort without feeling ill. Everyone shares the blame in this critical loss...

Opportunity Knocks and Giants Don’t Answer

Eagles Bum Rush Sluggish Giants by Jon Wagner It was all right there for the New York Giants – a chance to avenge a painful home loss from last year, an opportunity to dismiss questions about another second-half swoon, and the prospect of effectively ending the playoff hopes of a hated division rival. But, once again, New York’s nemesis came into the Meadowlands and ruined the...
