The Penalty Flag:
Every year for the last seven years I have signed up for fantasy football with ESPN. In each of those years I have added yet another team to the list, and one of them has been a team called Rookie Magic. Yes, it’s exactly what you think it is. The entire team, from top to bottom is made up of the rookies from that season’s class, minus the D/ST spot of course. In five of the last six years, Rookie Magic has finished in last place. In the one year they didn’t, they were second to last, just ahead of the “Schmoe” that didn’t update his team once, and had three players on injured reserve in his starting lineup. This year? Well, this year is different. Rookie Magic has been amazing, and is currently in fourth place, which is a playoff spot if the fantasy football regular season ended today. The Magic are solid at every position, except for tight end, and should continue to do well despite not having a single player with more than nine games of NFL experience. The fact that this team is doing so well made me realize something was happening. We, as NFL fans, [...]

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green missed his team's practice Wednesday but is still expected to suit up for Sunday's game against the host Baltimore Ravens.Green suffered a hyperextended knee in last weekend's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, finishing with just one catch for 36 yards and a touchdown. An MRI revealed no structural damage, and it's thought...
When Julio Jones left Sunday's game, third-year wide receiver Harry Douglas stepped forward for the Falcons.
With the Saints' defense focusing on wide receiver Roddy White and tight end Tony Gonzalez, Douglas was left in single coverage. He was targeted 14 times and came up with eight catches for 133 yards, which were both career-highs.
"It felt good," Douglas...
(By Joseph Person, email@example.com) Cam Newton is not a paid endorser for Gatorade. Maybe he should be.After a bad series - and there were a lot of them in Sunday's 30-3 loss to Tennessee - the Panthers' rookie quarterback retreated to the bench and put a white Gatorade towel over his head.
The Panthers are in an unenviable situation heading into Sunday's game at Detroit.
Not only do the Panthers have to figure out what in the world happened to their offense in a 30-3 loss to the Titans, but they'll also travel to face a Lions team that undoubtedly will be angry after getting blown out 37-13 by the Bears.
For the first time he can ever remember as a quarterback...
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones missed practice on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury that he aggravated on Sunday against the Saints. Right now, I highly doubt that Jones will be able to play this week against the Titans. I would expect to see Harry Douglas once again fill in for him.
Lots of Bengals on the official injury report for Wednesday. Twelve of them, to be exact, including nine who were listed as not participating in practice.
The biggest name on the list was WR A.J. Green with a hyperextended right knee.
Green had a MRI performed on Monday and said it showed he did not suffer any torn ligaments. He was limping as he walked through the locker room on...
Two key players in Sunday's Cincinnati Bengals-Baltimore Ravens game -- Ravens inside linebacker Ray Lewis and Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green -- missed a second straight day of practice Thursday.
Top receiver dealing with hyperextended right kneeMuch has been made about the development of Cincinnati Bengals rookie quarterback Andy Dalton, and rightfully so.
The Titans jumped on the Panthers early in this game and they never looked back. Marc Mariani returned a punt 79 yards for a TD early in the game for the Titans and they never looked back. Cam Newton completed 23 of 40 passes for 212 yards with 0 TD passes and 1 INT. He also carried the ball 7 times for 55 yards (7.9 ypc) in this game. DeAngelo Williams had another so-so...
