NFL analyst thinks Dolphins should move on from superstar
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins are coming off of an impressive 2023 season despite losing in the postseason to the Kansas City Chiefs. From dangerous weapons at wide receiver to a speedy rushing attack, the Dolphins’ offense was amongst the top in the league last year. However, there is one position of concern on the offensive side, and according to an NFL analyst, the team should move on from this superstar and draft one of the biggest names in the draft.

Miami Dolphins Should Move On From Superstar

According to NFL draft analyst Joel Klatt, Miami should move on from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa this offseason and draft Michael Penix Jr. from Washington. He says that giving Tua a large deal is a risky move and that it could come back to bite them soon.

Giving Tua a huge deal, I think it’s risky. He has been injury-prone outside of [concussions]… How many times did Tyreek [Hill] have to adjust on an underthrown ball?

Tua Tagovailoa Issues

Despite coming off the best statistical season of his career, the Dolphins’ quarterback has been viewed as a risk by many fans and analysts because of his injury history and inconsistent play. Tagovailoa amounted to 4,624 passing yards and 29 touchdowns in 2023, ranking first in the league in passing overall. However, analysts believe that his injury history and inconsistency could come back to haunt the Dolphins in the future, which has led to speculations that Miami could pick up a quarterback in this year’s draft.

Will Miami Draft A Rookie?

With so many great prospects at the quarterback position, it seems like a real possibility that Miami could draft another quarterback in the draft, even though they would likely keep Tua as their starter. However, if the veteran quarterback’s injury problems arise again, it could lead to the team moving on from him as soon as next season. Do you think the Dolphins should move on from Tagovailoa and draft a rookie like Penix Jr., or should they trust that Tua will be able to keep improving throughout his career?
