NFL Fans Remember A Shocking Andrew Luck Anniversary

He tweeted, “Happened three years ago. Feels like 10. Andrew Luck retired at age 29.”

Kleiman included a clip wherein Luck said, “I felt stuck in it and the only way I see out is to no longer play football. It’s taken my joy of this game away. I’m stuck in this process. I haven’t been able to live the life I wanna live.”

In 2015, Luck played only seven games due to an injured shoulder, a lacerated kidney, and torn abdominal muscle.

He would come back in 2016 to play 15 games and finish with 4,240 yards and 31 touchdowns.

However, he underwent surgery on his throwing shoulder after the season to address a recurring issue.

That surgery forced him to miss the entire 2017 season.

Luck returned for one final year and compiled 4,593 yards and 39 touchdowns.

Sadly, the collection of injuries was too much for him to endure.

Colts Still Searching For A Franchise Quarterback

Without those injuries, Luck might still be playing today at age 32.

But after his retirement, the Colts tried to find his successor.

In 2019, they had Jacoby Brissett and Brian Hoyer start games.

A year later, they signed Philip Rivers who started all 16 games.

Last season, Carson Wentz started the entire regular season for Indianapolis.

This time, the Colts hope that Matt Ryan will be the answer.

Yet given his age, they will have to find a long-term option behind center.
