Brett Favre makes his first Monday night appearance as a Jet tonight. However, Vegas doesn't have much faith in his magic on Monday night; the Jets are an 8.5 point underdog on the road against the San Diego Chargers. Despite all of the big names on the San Diego roster, the Chargers are simply not a great football team right now. In two games this season the Chargers have given up an average of 32.5 points and 437 yards. Both of these rank in the bottom 5 of the league. To make matters worse, their All-World running back LaDainian Tomlinson is banged up. He has a very bad case of turf toe and - although he may play - he is far from his explosive self. So, let's get this straight. The Chargers defense has played like crap all year and are without All-Pro linebacker Shawn Merriman. Their best offensive player is beat up and may not even play. And, oh yeah, they are playing against Brett Favre - a star who always seem to shine on Monday night. Despite all of this, the Chargers are favored by 8.5 points against a solid Jets team. What am I missing here?
