It’s hard to imagine the Houston Texans players and staff imagining a better first quarter of the 2012 season than what they’ve got. I guess they could have won all four games by 20 points or more? Because other than a late comeback attempt by the Denver Broncos, the Texans have annihilated all competition on their way to a perfect 4-0 start. A start that is only shared by two other teams in the league, both residing in the NFC. At this point, regardless of who they have played, Houston is the clear favorite in the AFC to represent the conference in the Super Bowl this season. What can’t they do? They can run, they can pass and their defense is the type of defense that dynasties are built upon. But we don’t want to pull a Michael Vick and call them a dynasty in the making before they’ve ever won more than one playoff game. Instead, let’s take a look at each unit and how they would be graded for the first quarter of the 2012 season alone. Offense The Texans offense is currently rank...

Their current 4-0 record isn’t just the best in Texans’ history, it’s the best in Houston professional football history. The old Houston Oilers never had a start to the season like this, and of course neither have the Texans...

Houston Texans Season Analysis – First Quarter

The beginning to the Houston Texans season has been perfect in the win-loss department, but not perfect overall. They’re a team that is finally gaining national recognition as a legit Super Bowl contender and in many cases, the best team in the NFL through four weeks. But as anybody can tell you, it’s not about where you are as a team in September and early October, but rather...

Texans blow out Titans 38-14

The Houston Texans' 38-14 defeat of the Tennessee Titans was not a fun game to watch for two-tone blue fans.  The Texans scored two early touchdowns and cruised from there.   The Titans never really had a chance, which is evident from a few key statistics.   The Titans lost the turnover battle, with three to the Texans' none.  Two of the three Titans turnovers...

The Rundown: Titans Edition

It is still hard to believe that we would say, at any point, that the Houston Texans are 4-0, even after they beat the Tennessee Titans 38-14. The Texans fell flat for a short time in the first half when the score was 14-7 going into halftime, but thanks to Titans right tackle David Stewart he woke up the defense in a big way. Stewart pulled Brooks Reed‘s hair, threw a hay maker...
