Free Agency is tricky because it can drastically change team’s draft plans. A team that wants to draft a top wide receiver in the first round could sign Mike Wallace or Wes Welker and as a result, their draft plans must change. Speaking of the draft, it’s tough to predict how the draft will turn out because nobody really knows what will happen on draft day thanks to trades and surprise picks. As a result, let’s take a look at how the top ten picks could shake out. 1. Kansas City Chiefs - Luke Joeckel (OT): Kansas City has traded for its new quarterback and now needs a stronger offensive line to keep him safe. The easiest way to do that is by drafting Joeckel with the first overall pick. 2. Jacksonville Jaguars – Sharrif Floyd (DT): Because Star Lotulelei is dealing with health issues, Floyd is now the best defensive tackle on the board. Jacksonville needs to improve its extremely bad rush defense and Floyd will do that immediately. 3. Oakland Raiders – Star Lotulelei (DT): A lot of mock drafts have Floyd getting drafted by the Raiders, but after Floyd gets drafted by Jacksonville, Oakland will get stuck with Lotulelei. If Lotulelei gets over his health issues, he could be the steal of the draft. 4. Philadelphia Eagles – Dee Milliner (CB): The Eagles still have Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. But by drafting Milliner, Asomugha and Rodgers-Cromartie will be able to train Milliner to become the next great cornerback. 5. Detroit Lions – Dion Jordan (DE): Jordan is a better defensive end prospect then fellow DE Ezekiel Ansah. Pairing either of them with Ndamukong Suh will create one of the best DE/DT combos in the NFL. Additionally, the Lions should draft Jordan because he played against better teams at Oregon than Ansah did at BYU. 6. Cleveland Browns – Ezekiel Ansah (DE): The Browns need a defensive end even more than the Lions do. As a result, Cleveland will draft whichever DE between Ezekiel Ansah and Dion Jordan Detroit decides not to pick. 7. Arizona Cardinals – Geno Smith (QB): This one pick will set off a whole new chain of draft picks. Arizona needs a good QB in order to fully utilize Larry Fitzgerald’s skills. Smith is the best quarterback on the board and should pair up well with Fitzgerald. 8. Buffalo Bills – Ryan Nassib (QB):  The Bills will be pushed into a corner and as a result, will be forced to take Nassib if a team before them (Arizona or someone else) takes Geno Smith. Buffalo should use this pick to improve in a different area but because they need a new quarterback, they’ll have to draft Nassib. The Syracuse QB would be the best option seeing as the team’s new head coach and offensive coordinator were his coaches in college. 9. New York Jets – Barkevious Mingo (DE): New York needs to improve its horrible rush defense. Mingo does just that, and at this point in the draft, he will be the best defensive end on the board. 10. Tennessee Titans – Chance Warmack (OG): Chance Warmack should be picked much higher than this but will fall due to two quarterbacks being drafted before him. The Titans not only need to protect whichever QB they decide to start, but also Chris Johnson. Follow me on twitter: @MrLauterbachXLJ

Wes Welker's Future With the New England Patriots is Cloudy

The National Football League free agency period has begun and the top wide receivers are already getting a lot of attention. Wes Welker, Mike Wallace and Greg Jennings are a few of the big names that are receiving a lot of of coverage so far with Welker being the most interesting of the bunch. There were early reports that Wes Welker and the Patriots were close to finalizing...

Report: Wes Welker Has Drawn Interest From Dolphins During NFL Tampering Window

The Miami Dolphins went into 2012 barren at wide receiver. Chad Johnson couldn’t even make it through training camp and Brian Hartline did an admirable job during the season, but it was obvious Miami needed to upgrade the position. The Dolphins have already re-signed Hartline, they’re considered the front runners for Mike Wallace and now they’re interested in Wes Welker, according...

Wes Welker Expected To Test The Free Agent Market

Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald reports that talks between the Patriots and free agent WR Wes Welker have ended for the day. Welker is expected to test the open market, while the Patriots could start looking at alternative options. The consensus remains that Welker is more likely to re-sign with the Patriots, but there’s now a better chance than ever that he could be playing...

Welker contract talks with Pats reportedly done for the day

The Wes Welker drama rolls on. Patriot's beat writer Karen Guregian just tweeted the following: I've heard contract talks are done between Pats and Welker for the day. Welker moves onto free agency. Welker situation full of mis-information

The amount of mis-information that is reported on the Wes Welker front is staggering. We've got reports that he's staying, he's going, he's not even recieved an offer. It's a mess. One can see Tom Brady and Wes on some beach making it all up like a couple of stoner kids. TFB: dude, I just tweeted Curran it was a done deal. WW: i just sent Albert Breer an email...

Robert Kraft: “I love Wes Welker. I hope he remains a Patriot for life”

We are only hours away from the official start of NFL free agency, and rumors are abound as agents and organizations put out anonymous information to gauge interest from players and other teams. But some owners come out from behind the curtain to either try to either gain favor with the fan base, or to truly entice a free agent. The latter appears to be the case with New England...

Patriots owner Robert Kraft on free agent-to-be Wes Welker: ‘We want him for life’

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft seems to understand the importance of keeping a guy like Wes Welker in the fold long-term.

The Start of Free Agency

Will this duo be back together? Today at 4 p.m. marks the official start to the NFL Free Agent signing period. There are some big names that many experts expect to change teams such as former Ram Steven Jackson, former Steeler Mike Wallace, and possibly (former) Patriot Wes Welker. I don't truly care where Jackson and Wallace end up because it neither one has any effect on...

Flooded free agent market, but no superstars

Most of the big names hitting NFL free agency aren't big stars anymore. While Ed Reed is coming off a Super Bowl season in Baltimore and Wes Welker catches 100 passes every year, this crop is more about aging defensive players such as Charles Woodson, Brian Urlacher and Ronde Barber. When full free agency begins Tuesday at 4 p.m. EDT, with all 32 teams under the $123 million...
