NFL News and Notes: Week 6Gridiron Experts fantasy player rankings will be released later today, in the meantime check out this NFL notes:Andre Johnson - WR - TexansTexans Coach Gary Kubiak said he’s “got to a better job of getting [Andre Johnson] involved.” Andre had only one catch against the Jets for 15 yards Monday. Over the last four games, Johnson is averaging 2.2 catches for 41.0 yards with one touchdown. Fantasy owners should not fear as the passing game has not been needed against the opponents the Texans have face thus far. The Packers will be a much more difficult of a challenge and the team will need to rely more heavily on having to put up points moving forward.Aaron Rodgers - QB - PackersAlready thrown four interceptions after getting picked off just six times all of last season, Packers Aaron Rodgers was quoted saying he’s “been making just some mistakes I’m not used to making.” Fantasy owners are fighting over the scrapes of Alex Green and/or James Starks, but I believe the team will increase their workload to players like Randall Cobb with quick slants and screens to keep defense’s honest. Fantasy owners need to stick with Rodgers, he will earn your trust back.Chris Johnson - RB - TitansProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio does not expect Chris Johnson to be a Titan in 2013. I wouldn’t be surprised if they released him in the next couple weeks, CJ2k has been a complete bust in 2012.Brandon Pettigrew - TE - LionsLions Coach Jim Schwartz said Brandon Pettigrew was given an extra day of rest on Tuesday. Considering the team is off a bye and Pettigrew has been plagued with drops this season it’s hard to make sense of what is really happening here. Pettigrew may have a hidden injury that we are not known about. Falcons Julio Jones is one drop behind league-leader Jason Witten with Pettigrew not far behind.Chris Ivory - RB - SaintsAzCardinals.com suggests New Orleans’ Chris Ivory as a potential trade target at running back. Teams like the Packers could also be very interested. I remember back at to the NFL draft when the Packers had a chance to select LaMichael James and passed on him in the 2nd round, James would have been a perfect addition to the teams style of offense. At this point, trade rumors of Ivory making his way to a new team are just rumors, but with a loaded backfield the Saints would be crazy not to try and grab something for a player they can barely get onto the field.Kenny Britt - WR - TitansKenny Britt (ankle) says he “felt the most confident I have in this whole year” in Tuesday’s practice. It’s hard to get on board with any of the three Titan WR’s in fantasy these days. So far this season, there has only been 1 one-hundred yard game between Britt, Washington and rookie Kendall Wright. With the lack of a run game and injuries to Jake Locker the team has not been a place I have looked to for fantasy options this season. Granted Jared Cook has had his moments.

To question Chris Johnson’s commitment to his team now is to just be honest. The Titans are 1-4 and playing very poorly.
Their starting quarterback is on the mend and their star wide receiver is also battling injuries.
Johnson at this point has passed on several chances to save the day from a morale perspective and is trashing his group publicly in the name of allegedly keeping...
If the Titans are looking for words of encouragement in the wake of their uninspiring 1-4 start, they aren’t going to get them from the highest-paid player on their team. Chris Johnson has contributed more to the problem than the solution this year in Tennessee, and he doesn’t sound like a player who is expecting his team to turn things around any time soon.“I don’t believe...
Titans running back Chris Johnson had his second best rushing game of the season Thursday against the Steelers, running for 91 yards on 19 carries as the Titans upset Pittsburgh, 26-23.Fantasy Spin:Johnson has rushed for 24 yards or less in four of his six games this season but he's picked up 232 yards in the other two. Johnson added 23 yards on four catches Thursday, but he...
The Tennessee Titans and running back Chris Johnson have struggled a lot this season. They’re currently 1-4 and sit at the bottom of the AFC South.Johnson told the media that they’re not a good team right now.“I don’t believe we’re close right now. You look at the games and how we’re playing, we don’t look like a good team. I wouldn’t sit here and say we’re close...
Texans receiver Andre Johnson (groin) fully practiced Thursday.Fantasy Spin:Johnson caught just one ball Monday against the Jets. His fantasy value has been greatly hampered by Houston's conservative play-calling -- the Texans are second in the NFL in rushing attempts with 183 and 62.8 percent of Matt Schaub's 97 completions have gone to backs or tight ends.
Chris Johnson succinctly sums up the Tennessee Titans' problems: Everybody is taking turns making mistakes.
His teammates pretty much agree.
Knowing the problem and fixing it is proving much tougher than the Titans (1-4) expected. They also have no time to dwell on how quickly this season has gone so wrong because the Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2) visit Thursday night.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have faced Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson four times since he came into the league and they have had good success at shutting down the speedy back.In the four games that Johnson has faced the Steelers he has 61 carries for 211 yards and 2 touchdowns. That breaks down to a 3.46 yards per carry average. In addition, Johnson is off to a slow start...
The Tennessee Titans fear that the injury suffered by Javon Ringer may end his season, which comes as especially bad news after watching Chris Johnson revert back to his old and unproductive self in a 30-7 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Ringer was once thought of a player who could serve a solid compliment to Johnson in the Titans’ backfield, but he has struggled to remain healthy...
Chris Johnson hasn't exactly lived up to his lofty expectations this season, and he's decided to take much of his frustrations out on the teammates around him.
After the Titans most recent letdown, a 30-7 beatdown by the Vikings, Johnson wasn't just chiding his offensive line for the subpar performance. This time, he's calling the entire team out, according to Titans...
Can Chris Johnson still be called CJ2K?
Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2) @ Tennessee Titans (1-4)
In 2009, Chris Johnson ran for 2,006 yards, earning his current nickname CJ2K. Every year since then, Johnson's yards per game has fallen from 125.4 in '09, to 85.3 in '10, to 65.4 last season, and so far this season has been his worst, averaging a measly 42 yards per game...
WE HAVE A PROBLEM
Initial reports from the Texans indicate that linebacker Brian Cushing may have suffered a torn ACL during Monday night's game against the Jets.
"It is kind of disappointing, running down the same road every Sunday or whatever. We're not able to put drives together and put up points."
That quote was uttered by embattled Tennessee running back Chris Johnson following the Titans' blowout loss to the Vikings. The dominant Minnesota run defense limited Johnson to just 24 rushing yards on 15 carries (1.6 YPC...

The Tennessee Titans are having an awful start to the season. The issues involved in getting their once superstar running back Chris Johnson going have not been solved, and to make matters worse, their franchise quarterback has been battling injury. In a normal world, this would be an easy game for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but that phrase...
Chris Johnson has done very little to help himself, his image, or his team since his holdout to begin the 2011 season and he certainly hasn’t contributed much on the field this year, coming into tonight’s game boasting a 2.9 YPC average. He was quoted this week as saying that the Tennessee Titans needed a … Continue reading »
