In his last meaningful action as a member of the Baltimore Ravens, PK Billy Cundiff missed a 32 yard field goal which would have tied the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots. On Sunday, the Ravens sent Cundiff packing as the team started to make roster moves in order to reach the 75-man roster limit by 4 p.m. Monday. Cundiff led the Ravens in scoring last season, racking up 122 points, a career high. He finished the season perfect on extra point attempts but saw his field goal accuracy slip to 75%, off his 89.7% mark of 2010 which earned him a contract extension.Cundiff is one of the best kickoff kickers in the game but struggles on long field goal attempts. The Ravens will head into the 2012 season with undrafted free agent K Justin Tucker handling the kicking duties. Prior to his release, head coach John Harbaugh told reporters that Cundiff had had a great camp, perhaps his best camp ever, but he was still released. Cundiff appeared shocked by the move and spoke ...

Kicker swap; Redskins look for consistency by bringing in Billy Cundiff

No one was surprised when the Baltimore Ravens replaced kicker Billy Cundiff after he shanked a game tying field goal in the conference championship game last January. Ravens first round of cuts includes Billy Cundiff...keep rookie kicker Justin Tucker

Kinda saw the Cundiff cut coming based upon two recent observations: (1) rookie Justin Tucker got all the reps at K in Thursday night's preseason Game 3, and (2) John Harbaugh tipped his hand a little bit in a WBAL interview on Friday when he mentioned how valuable it would be for the organization to have a young kicker who would solidify the position for the next ten years...
