Amidst a flurry of moves, the Houston Texans reduced their roster and met the league imposed 53-man roster deadline on Friday evening. In addition to releasing players, the team also acquired a player via trade. The Texans and the Chicago Bears exchanged players. Houston sent CB Sherrick McManis to the Bears in exchange for FB Tyler Clutts. The move leaves the Bears without a fullback on their current roster. OT Rashad Butler was placed on the injured reserve list while WR Jerrell Jackson was placed on the waived/injured list. The Texans can start to assemble their practice squad once released players clear through waivers Saturday September 1 at noon.
