The month long debate over who would become the starting quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks is over. On Sunday night, Seattle head coach Pete Carroll announced that Russell Wilson would start the team’s final preseason game and would be the starting quarterback for the Seahawks in week one of the regular season. Wilson’s play on the field has been superb this preseason. Wilson was embroiled in a three-way quarterback race with Matt Flynn and veteran Tarvaris Jackson. Flynn was the presumptive favorite to land the starting job in Seattle after the team signed him in free agency and handed him $10 million in guaranteed money. Jackson has reportedly been dealt to the Buffalo Bills and failed to appear in any of the Seahawks three preseason games. It’s being reported that Flynn is dealing with an elbow injury. I have watched two of the Seahawks three preseason games and will be watching their 44-14 win over the Kansas City Chiefs later today. What Wilson has shown me is the ability to...

Russell Wilson effect? Seahawks now favored Week 1 vs. Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals opened as a 2.5-point favorite against the Seahawks for their Week 1 game, but the line has switched by five points — the most of any other Week 1 line — and Seattle is now favored in the game. Starting Strong: Russell Wilson Ends the Quarterback Drama in Seattle

With his standout performance against Kansas City Friday night, rookie Russell Wilson has probably locked up the starting quarterback spot for the Seattle Seahawks. Russell Wilson can change how I feel about the #3 for the Seahawks

Interesting history I’ve always been fascinated by team numbers. Numbersology  as I call it. Yes I made that word up. My wife always tells me I have my own language of “Q-isms.” That’s another. The #3 is a number that we have only seen on display in Seattle a handful of times in the Seahawks short 36 year history. Three are quarterbacks, the rest kickers and punters. The...
