In a Cleveland.com report by Mary Kay Cabot, Browns second year running back Trent Richardson declared himself 100% healthy and ready to go when the Browns open training camp next week. “I’ll be full-go right from the get-go and y’all out there will see me flying around,” he said. “I can’t wait to get out there and I can’t wait for the first game. I’ve been waiting forever for this season and I know it’s going to be a good one for us.” Richardson was held out of mini-camp with what was described as a ‘shin strain’. For a while, there was speculation that the injury could have been a stress fracture, or could develop into a stress fracture. The team denied these reports, and Richardson wasn’t in a walking boot as would be the treatment for a stress fracture. Richardson, the team’s rookie rushing record holder has been working out in Florida rehabbing the injury. Richardson played in 15 games last season despite a knee injury and broken ribs. He rushed for 950 yards on 267 carries. He rushed for 11 touchdowns. He also caught 51 passes out of the backfield for 367 yards and a touchdown. Much has been made of Richardson’s 3.6 yards per rush average. Hopefully a healthy Richardson will see those numbers improve. [Related: Browns training camp storylines]
