We had a pretty solid week last week, going 3-1-1. Our first week with two guest pickers saw Cowboys cheerleader Courtney Cook go 1-3-1 and Panthers ice girl Danielle go 2-2-1. Yep, BC took down not one, but two hot chicks in one week. This week we’re going to try to do the same as Courtney Cook returns and joins sports anchor Chelsa Messinger. Chelsa knows her stuff, but going against BC and the spread? That’s another story. Lets see what these hot chicks are made off!
We profiled Chelsa about a month ago, but for you amateurs who still don’t know her, pay attention. She is a former NC State swimmer who now works as the WLTZ-NBC sports anchor in Georgia. Yeah…we’re scratching our heads too. How she hasn’t been offered a TV job in a major market is mind-boggling sh*t. Even more bizarre is that she only has 916 followers (@ChelsaMessinger). When she’s on EPSN in two years remember who introduced you.

Last Week: Courtney Cook: 1-3-1 (ATS)   |   Danielle Castellano: 2-2-1 (ATS)   |   BC: 3-1-1 (ATS)
YTD (ATS): Hot Chicks 8-10-2   |   BC 10-8-2

Pregame NFL Line: Steelers -4
Chelsa’s Pick: Eagles +4     BC Pick: Steelers -4
Chelsa says:
Despite the records, neither teams have been especially impressive. The Steelers are old. Very old. Especially on the defense. Vick’s no spring chicken either but he should be able to produce decent numbers. Turnovers have been brutal for the Eagles, and Michael Vick still doesn’t know when to just throw it away. However, Vick looked a lot better last week vs. Giants.
Edge: Eagles – won all three games in 4th quarter, while Steelers blew two 4th quarter leads in both losses.

Pregame NFL Line: Falcons -3
Chelsa’s Pick: Falcons -3     BC Pick: Falcons -3
Chelsa says:
Have you seen the Falcons play? But seriously, Matt Ryan leads the NFL in Passer Rating (112.1), and he’s always been solid in the regular season. RGII has been impressive, especially for a rookie, but he hasn’t played Super-Bowl caliber team like the Falcons yet.
Edge: Falcons. Atlanta’s weakness the past few years, the secondary, has been exceptional this year. Plus, RB Michael Turner is coming off a good week (minus the DUI).

Pregame NFL Line: Patriots -6.5
Chelsa’s Pick: Patriots -6.5     BC Pick: Broncos +6.5
Chelsa says:
It’s very hard for me to pick against the Patriots at home. Both teams, surprisingly, have losing records, but I’d pick an aging Brady over a rusty Manning any day. Defensively, Broncos look better. They have 10 sacks on the season.
Edge: Patriots. Broncos D thrives on rushing the passer. But Blitzing won’t faze Brady. He has the most TD passes (16) of any NFL QB when teams bring 5 or more rushers.

Pregame NFL Line: Saints -3
Chelsa’s Pick: Saints -3     BC Pick: Saints -3
Chelsa says:
The Saints have been abysmal this year. However, all three of their losses were by relatively small margins, including a one-point loss to Green Bay. They have some talent, just lack leadership. I’d say this week things have to get better. Chargers might be a little confident after a big win at KC, but unless RB Ryan Mathews starts playing like himself (Wish he would, for my fantasy team’s sack), I’ll take NO.
Edge: Saints. Desperation is great motivator, and the Saints have yet to win a game.

Pregame NFL Line: Texans -7
Chelsa’s Pick: Texans -7     BC Pick: Texans -7
Chelsa says:
Seriously, is this even a question? Let’s hope you have the Texans D on your fantasy team (like me). Jets are teetering on the brink of apocalypse, while the Texans are the most balanced team in the league. Opposing quarterbacks have a paltry 46% completion percentage vs. Texans, while Houston offense has ZERO turnovers in the Red Zone.
Edge: Texans. In every category. The only upside for Jets is that Texans rank second in the league in time of possession, so Sanchez presumably won’t be on the field very long.
