Andrew Luck provided Indianapolis fans with another comeback win, this time ruining the weekend for the Detroit Lions. The level of success Luck is having early in his career has created speculation about just how far this team can go in 2012, which was supposed to be a rebuilding year. Greg Cowan, managing editor and senior writer with Colts Authority, says he’s intrigued by that question too given that “on paper, they probably should have stopped winning about two wins ago.” Cowan is realistic. If the Colts do make the playoffs they probably should be one-and-done. But he also thinks they could be capable of a first-round shocker, particularly if they get a match-up with a flawed Baltimore squad. “Are they going to win it all? Not this year,” he says. “But beyond this year, the sky is the limit.” Cowan joined Zoneblitz.com as week 14’s guest blogger. He follows Steve Spooner, team editor at 49ers Gab. Spooner struggled to a 7-9 mark during another wild, upset-filled week. Tony was...

Week 14 power ranks: Andrew Luck carries the Indianapolis Colts over the Lions and into the top 10

The struggles of the Bears, Packers, Giants, 49ers and Ravens in recent weeks allows the Indianapolis Colts to make a legitimate push into the top 10. I remain skeptical of Indy’s true chances when January roles around (the 59-24 drubbing in New England is an indicator of how far they are behind the truly top shelf teams in the league) and their -41 point differential leaves much...

It’s not all Luck

Hey! My first Andrew Luck headline pun! But truly, the change in the fortunes of the Indianapolis Colts has widely been attributed to rookie quarterback Andrew Luck, which is fine, because he has been very good so far. I think, however, that this ignores the overall success of the Colts as a team, and doesn’t reflect exactly how bad the quarterback situation was last season. The...

Video: Watching Andrew Luck’s Last-Second TD From the Ford Field Stands

The Detroit Lions let another victory slip through their fingers last Sunday when Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck hit Donnie Avery for a last-second, game-winning touchdown. Continue reading →

Indianapolis Colts Andrew Luck and Reggie Wayne hang out with cast of NBC's "Parks & Recreation" (Picture)

Honestly, there are many ways that I could go with this post but I think I'll let the below picture do most of the talking. Recently, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne, owner Jim Irsay, and Andrew Luck got a chance to hang out with the cast of the hit NBC show, "Parks and Recreation". Below is the photo: Clearly, Ron Swanson didn't get...

Andrew Luck Has Had Impressive Rookie Season, But MVP Talk Is Crazy

It’s official, the Andrew Luck hype mobile is going off the rails like a crazy train. Luck has been impressive. And Luck can make throws on a football field that even Tom Brady and Peyton Manning would have a hard time completing. But, that does not automatically put him in their category, and that certainly does not make him an MVP candidate, as Adam Schein — who has a vote...

Message to Colts fans…

It’s fourth down. Your team is down by five. There’s four seconds on the clock. And it’s 14 yards to the end zone. Who do you want as your quarterback? Tom Brady? Peyton Manning? Andrew Luck? How many Colts fans would have picked our rookie quarterback at the beginning of the season? And now…after Sunday? Andrew Luck is quickly becoming that quarterback. That quarterback...

The Colts curse was lifted by Jim Irsay

The Colts selected Andrew Luck who is considered by all experts to be the heir apparent to Peyton Manning. If Luck proves to be anything close what Manning was to the Colts over his reign, then Jim Irsay has got to be one of the luckiest new owners in the history of the NFL. No one at this point can look at the history of the Colts over the Irsay Era and not think that a curse or...

Lone Star QBs making their mark in NFL

It has been a big year in Texas high school quarterback lore. The NFL season began in September, the state of Texas had more natives per capita under center across the league than any other comparably sized region. The top two picks in the draft, Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, were both former Texas high school quarterbacks. Another former Texas high school quarterback, Johnny...

Colts rookies trying to make most of 2nd chances

(Eds: Updates. With AP Photos.) By MICHAEL MAROT AP Sports Writer Andrew Luck is getting a crash course in rematch etiquette. The man who seemingly did it all in college never played the same team twice in one season until he jumped to the NFL. On Sunday, he'll get a second chance at playing a team twice when Tennessee visits Lucas Oil Stadium. ''It's different...

Annoying Colts chick gets incredibly annoying (VIDEO)

If Sunday’s Lions last second loss to the Colts has left your system than this post isn’t for you.  Here are the last four seconds followed by a minute and a half of Miss Colt Fan trolling everybody within earshot. It’s incredible how 64,000 people can go limp and one squeaky lady can steal the glory in the blink of an eye – especially when it should have been assumed that...

Titans-Colts Preview

A knack for late-game heroics and the ability to win the close ones have helped put the Indianapolis Colts in good position to return to the playoffs. The Colts needed overtime to win at Tennessee earlier this season, but hope for an easier time Sunday when they try for a fifth consecutive home victory over the reeling Titans. Paced by rookie Andrew Luck, Indianapolis (8-4) executed...

AFC Power Rankings: My Own Take on Who's At the Top

There are a lot of factors that determine who goes where on a list like this, especially in 2012, a year that will go down in infamy. Power rankings can't predict how injuries will affect the next game, but it can take into account how a team has dealt with the many unpredictable situations it has faced and what that could mean against other teams' unpredictable situations...

With four games left, we're taking a look at the current wildcard teams. Are they contenders or just pretenders? Let's take a look. Indianapolis Colts The Colts are almost certainly in the playoff party. They hold a game lead...
