Rex Ryan did all the talking before the game, and his team backed it up Sunday evening in Foxboro. The New York Jets are heading back to the AFC title game for the second straight season, after downing their long time rival New England 28-21.
Quarterback Mark Sanchez threw for three touchdown passes and 194 yards in the win. The Jets defense held Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in check, holding him to two touchdown passes, along with an interception thrown.
The Jets wrapped up the win late in the fourth quarter when Shonn Greene ran for 16 yards to put them up 28-14. New England drove down the field and picked up a Deion Branch touchdown late. The Patriots were unable to get the onside kick and the game was over from there.
The Jets will now prepare for the AFC title game, which will take place in Pittsburgh. In both the AFC and NFC, the six seed is heading out on the road to take on the second seed. In week 15, the Jets went to Pittsburgh and downed the Steelers.
