Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers The 49ers and Packers both have great championship traditions but only one can move onto the NFC Championship.  The 49ers come into the game as the favorites and enjoy the home-field advantage, but also have to face the healthiest version of the Green Bay Packers since the first day of the season.  Charles Woodson, Clay Matthews, and Donald Driver should all be available for tonight's game which makes the Packers much more difficult to pass against and deeper on the other side of the ball. Aaron Rodgers has not received the type of attention that he usually gets this week as most of the attention has been on rookie Colin Kaepernick and how he will deal with the playoff pressure.  Kaepernick has come off the bench and has proven to be the catalyst that Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers need.  The Packers have the talent on defense to slow down the 49ers running game with B.J. Raji, Matthews, and A.J. Hawk.   The Packers will face the 49ers dominating defense which during the regular season was fourth against the run and the pass.  The 49ers have three first-team All-Pro in Navarro Bowman, Patrick Willis, and Dashon Goldson.  The way the Packers will win the game is by attacking the cornerbacks by spreading the field and running an up-tempo attack to tire Aldon and Justin Smith.  The Packers might be underdogs but they have the big game players that the 49ers lack.  Packers 27, 49ers 19 Rodgers knows that only one team can advance

Packers cheerleaders: From Lombardi to today

Mary Jane van Duyse Sorgel didn't know a star was born on a chilly November afternoon at Wrigley Field as she performed at halftime of the Green Bay Packers' 1959 game against the Chicago Bears. Packers’ Donald Driver: “I’d play Special Teams”

Packers WR Donald Driver doesn’t really need an introduction, the four-time Pro Bowler is the Green Bay Franchise leader in receptions and receiving yards – arguably the best to ever play the position for the team. Things haven’t been so great for him as of late, he’s seemed to find himself on the inactive list lately  In fact, just last week when the Packers hosted the...

Packers' defense far from Super Bowl-ready

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Two losses, 82 points allowed. Those are the results of the Packers' past two visits to the divisional round of the playoffs. If there is one key reason Green Bay has not been able to make it back to the Super Bowl since winning it all on Feb. 6, 2011, it's been the Packers' lackluster postseason defense. It made some sense when Green Bay gave up 37...

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Justin Smith was limited in practice all week and has been given the OK to play in Saturday night’s playoff game against the Packers. Wisconsin Born Kaepernick Beats Cali Born Rodgers

Sorry about your homecoming Aaron Rodgers. I’m sure one of these days you’ll be able to win in San Francisco. All the talk heading into this game was about Aaron Rodgers homecoming, how the 49ers were going to be upset they didn’t draft him back in 2005. Yes, that is right, Rodgers is still crying 7 years later. Well Aaron that was before Harbaugh’s time and he drafted Colin...

Out with the Packers, in with the Kaeper(nick)

The Green Bay Packers’ run for a Super Bowl title is finished. Colin Kaepernick’s run to the top has just begun. You would imagine that this lanky man’s ability to scramble out of the pocket  would look a bit eccentric, but don’t be fooled by the pair of legs on this nimble quarterback. The young sophomore has put up numbers tonight no other QB in the NFL has ever recorded...

This time, Packers plan to be ready for 49ers

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- There was a feeling within the Packers locker room that they'd see the San Francisco 49ers again. Perhaps it was just hopefulness, looking for a way to get another shot at the team that came into Lambeau Field in Week 1 of the regular season and thoroughly outplayed Green Bay on both sides of the ball. But that was four months ago. Now, the Packers are getting...
