NFL RedZone’s Scott Hanson to co-host ‘Gold Zone’ coverage of Paris Olympics

NFL RedZone fans get excited, Scott Hanson will be back on TV sooner than expected. The RedZone host is teaming up with Sunday Ticket host Andrew Siciliano to broadcast the “Gold Zone,” a whip-around highlights show for the Summer Olympics. The Gold Zone will be on NBC’s streaming platform, Peacock. The broadcasting team for Gold Zone will also include hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila.

Gold Zone will stream live on Peacock from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET each day throughout the games.

“With up to 40 events happening simultaneously during the Paris Olympic Games, Gold Zone will present viewers with the best and most compelling moments happening at any time,” NBC shared in a press release. “The daily live show will guide fans through the excitement, triumphs, and emotion of the Games, scanning all the events that day to provide viewers with the most exhilarating moments and key races, routines, and finishes as they unfold live. 

“Gold Zone’s daily offering will provide viewers with the most comprehensive and all-encompassing live whip-around coverage of any Olympic Games to date.”

Andrew Siciliano previously hosted NBC’s live Gold Zone coverage during the 2014 Sochi Winter games and the 2016 Rio Olympics. Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila are currently co-host of NBC’s American Ninja Warrior. It’s the duo’s third and second times covering the Olympics, respectively. The various hosts of Peacock’s Gold Zone will also bring on special guests throughout their daily coverage.

The 2024 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, is in Paris, France. Coverage begins with the Opening Ceremony on July 26. The games wrap up on August 11. In a Summer Games first for Peacock, the platform will stream every event in every sport, with full-event replays available.

Peyton Manning joining Olympics coverage in Paris

Peyton Manning, the Pro Football Hall of Famer, will try his hand at other sports – lots of them – when he co-hosts NBC’s coverage of the opening ceremony of the Olympics this summer.

Manning will host with Mike Tirico and singer Kelly Clarkson as the Olympics kick off in Paris.

Manning, Tirico and Clarkson started doing media interviews about their new assignment Tuesday night. They spoke with Andrew Marchand of The Athletic. And then the trio made the official announcement with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.

Manning has started to do all the research he will need to be able to talk about what he sees in the opening ceremony.

“So far, I’ve been so impressed because, not surprisingly, he’s a maniac for research and preparation,” Molly Solomon, the president of NBC’s Olympic productions, told The Athletic.

Paris is doing something unique this year when it comes to the opening ceremony. Rather than do the massive production from a stadium, like all other host cities have done, the ceremony will incorporate some of the best sites of the City of Lights.

Fans will line the banks of the River Seine. They will watch as 90 boats, carrying all the athletes from 200 countries, will float past them. The boat parade of nations, with a a 3.7-mile route, will end at the Eiffel Tower.
