Casey Matthews is suffering through a miserable season under head coach Andy Reid with the Philadelphia Eagles. After a 3-1 start, the Eagles have dropped seven straight and Reid has lost control of this team. It is all but inevitable that 2012 will be Reid’s final season coaching the eagles, and if that is indeed the case, Matthews has a suggestion for who the next head coach should be in Philadelphia. Matthews would be happy to see his former college football head coach, Chip Kelly, leave the Oregon Ducks and take over lading the Eagles. “I think the fans here would love him,” Matthews said Thursday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. “They would love his attitude, his go-get-it mentality.” Of course, Matthews wasn’t suggesting that the Eagles fire Reid. Nor was he saying that Philadelphia would seek to interview Kelly. But when asked whether or not his college coach would be a good fit in the NFL, and more specifically, with the Eagles, Matthews did not hide his ...

Philadelphia Eagles: Where Will Andy Reid be Coaching Next Year?

In a year that began with the team owner saying that another 8-8 season wouldn’t be enough for Andy Reid to keep his job and the starting quarterback claiming that the Eagles were about to be a dynasty, a 3-8 start with seven consecutive losses surely wasn’t the way the long-time Philly head coach drew things up. So if team owner Jeffrey Lurie is true to his word and lets Andy...

Next Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach: Offensive or Defensive?

If, in fact, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid is fired at season’s end, we’ll be in the market for a new leader on the grid iron.  Besides the aspects of personality characteristics, track record and reputation, one big question is whether or not we should bring in an offensive or defensive-minded head coach. And furthermore, does that matter? Well, since winning the...

Five NFL teams that make sense for Chip Kelly

The 2007 hiring of New Hampshire offensive coordinator Chip Kelly was historic to the Oregon football program. Although named to the same position by Oregon (taking over for Gary Crowton who left for LSU), his version of the spread offense has brought legendary results to a program that has had it’s share of ups and downs. His innovative offensive assault gained more national attention...

The Eagles are terrible and Andy Reid should be let go out of respect. Week 13 preview.

The Eagles have checked out and they are playing terrible.  Andy Reid should be spared the embarrassment the rest of the way. After an average Thanksgiving week of picks I'm sitting at 114-63.  I need to step my game up as we sprint to the postseason. Jacksonville at Buffalo - Chad Henne is proving that he can play QB in the NFL.  I liked him in Miami and thought...

Jason Babin Just Another Example of How Andy Reid Changed

One year removed from an 18-sack season, Philadelphia Eagles DE Jason Babin was abruptly released yesterday.  I don’t mean to pile-on here, but I can’t say I’m sad to see him go. In fact, I was very surprised they signed him (again) in 2011. I normally do not play the “I told you so” game, but…I told you so.  Back in June of 2011, I wrote an article saying why I didn’t...

Eagles Fans are Mean-Spirited

The Eagles loss to the Carolina Panthers on Monday night was just another nail in the coffin that is Andy Reid’s firing. The team hit a downward spiral about 3-4 weeks ago and there was no stopping it. Thus concluding Andy Reid’s tenure as head coach, and he’s not going out peacefully apparently. Eagles fans are hilarious. One minute Reid’s the best coach in the world, the...

Nick Foles could get another start in week 13

Coach Andy Reid confirmed that Nick Foles is likely to draw another start in Week 13. Michael Vick hasn’t passed the final phase of his concussion protocols. Either way, Reid admitted that it’s time to evaluate the Eagles’ young talent — even if he knows he won’t be around to coach it. Foles has a good shot at starting the final six games of the year as a tryout for the...

Locker Room Talk: Glimpse Inside a Team Who’s Missed the Playoffs

The NFL’s week 13 MNF matchup between the Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia Eagles put the spotlight on a pair of 3-8 teams who are headed towards empty postseasons.  For the Carolina Panthers, they appear to be an organization that will look to shuffle the deck once more this offseason.  They pulled the plug on longtime General Manager Marty Hurney several weeks ago and...

Bryce Brown Fantasy Forecast

Up until this past Monday night, the only real hatred towards Andy Reid was coming from Philadelphia Eagles fans. But after Bryce Brown racked up 178 yards and two touchdowns against the Carolina Panthers, Reid can add fantasy owners to the list. The Eagles are notorious for wanting to throw the ball. So much so, that LeSean McCoy could be arguably be perceived as a better wide receiver...

Eagles-Cowboys Preview

As bad as things are going for the Dallas Cowboys, it's that much worse for the Philadelphia Eagles. These injury-plagued NFC East rivals meet Sunday night at Cowboys Stadium, with the Eagles out to avoid their longest losing streak in 44 years. Dallas (5-6) is tied for second place in the division with Washington, two games behind the Super Bowl champion New York Giants. The...
