Mike Florio of PFT.com threw out an interesting idea this evening regarding the possible future of former Oregon quarterback Dennis Dixon. Could Dennis Dixon be the next quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles? It is some plausible speculation given that Chip Kelly is now the head coach of the Eagles. It remains to be seen just how much of the Oregon style of offense Kelly is able to integrate into the NFL game. Michael Vick is a likely candidate to be released given his current salary structure. Rookie QB Nick Foles does not fit the mold of quarterback that Kelly was used to at Oregon. Dennis Dixon played for Oregon and Kelly is familiar with his skill set while Dixon should be familiar with the terminology that Kelly will likely employ. Dixon is currently running the scout team for the Baltimore Ravens and he could be a candidate for the Eagles to bring in under center.
