Andy Reid will not be coaching the Philadelphia Eagles past the 2012 NFL season. I know it, you know it, Reid knows it. Everybody knows it, and it is the right decision, regardless of how supportive of Reid Eagles’ owner Jeffrey Lurie has been through the years. It is time for a change.
But for anyone in Philadelphia who expects Reid to quit during this season, well, that is just plain foolish. Quitting the Eagles would be stupid for Reid.
Not because he can still turn things around or save his job for one more season, but because it would mean that he would not get paid for the remaining final time of his contract, one in which runs through the 2013 season. You never walk away with money and years left on the table. You force someone to make you walk away from the table.
