Former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was recently cleared for a return to the league and look for work. Williams had been suspended for one year by the NFL after his involvement in the Saints Bountygate scandal. Williams had left the Saints as a free agent and was quickly hired by the St. Louis Rams as the team’s defensive coordinator.
Shortly after being suspended for the year, the Rams parted ways with Williams and the team even fired his son who was on the coaching staff as well.
Now, ESPN and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Titans will sign Williams to a deal for the 2013 season. Williams remains on an indefinite suspension by the league but he was given permission to seek employment. There is no official word on when Williams might be able to actively return to the coaching ranks.
