Once he was fired by the Dallas Cowboys, defensive coordinator Rob Ryan told reporters that he would be unemployed for about five minutes. Well, it was more like a few weeks, and now, it appears he will continue to be unemployed. Shortly after his release from the Cowboys, reports surfaced that Rob Ryan would become the new defensive coordinator for the Rams for the 2013 season. Ryan denied the reports.
Last week, reports once again suggested that the Rams would hire Ryan as the team’s defensive coordinator. Now, not so much. According to the official Twitter feed from the St. Louis Rams, the team and Ryan seem to have some differences and Ryan will not be brought aboard as the Rams continue their search for a new coordinator.
“After extensive conversations regarding defensive philosophy, the Rams and Rob Ryan agreed that he was not the right fit for the DC position,” the club released in a tweet this morning.
