Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll addressed the media on Monday and addressed several items regarding his team. The status of backup QB Matt Flynn was raised and Carroll acknowledged that the team could move Flynn this offseason. Russell Wilson is firmly entrenched as the Seattle starting quarterback for next season and it could be that Flynn wants to continue his career elsewhere. Carroll told reporters that if Flynn requested a trade, the team would likely grant it. Flynn was a backup under Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and was only able to make two career starts while in Green Bay. Seattle snapped up Flynn in free agency last year, but drafted Wilson in the third round of the 2102 NFL Draft. Wilson won the starting job in pre-season and Flynn saw just limited action. Carroll said that Flynn kept fighting in practice this season and never fully accepted the backup role for the Seahawks. “He never did want to accept it. And he still thinks he is the best quarterback in t...

Pete Carroll: What goes around comes around

Seahawks fans will continue to stand behind Pete Carroll as in their minds, no way did he cost the Seahawks the game by icing the kicker and calling a time out. Looking back, it’s exactly what happened. Sure, the Seahawks defense allowed the Atlanta Falcons to get into field goal range with ease. With only 30 seconds remaining the defense should have been able to get the job done...

Seahawks could look to trade Matt Flynn

Before Russell Wilson came out of nowhere, Matt Flynn was supposed to be the Seahawks' starting quarterback. Before the season started, however, it was Wilson, not Flynn that was named the Seahawks' starting quarterback, and it was without question the right move. Now, however, the Seahawks have a very expensive backup quarterback that could be trade ammunition in the offseason...

Seahawks’ GM Says Team is Open to Trading Matt Flynn

This story shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone who watched Seahawks rookie quarterback Russell Wilson play this year.  After a regular season that saw him throw 26 touchdown passes while leading Seattle to an 11-5 record, Wilson led the Seahawks to a playoff win at Washington and was a couple of Matt Ryan passes away from having his team in the NFC Title Game on Sunday...

Pete Carroll says the Seahawks need more pass rushers

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told the media in his closing press conference that they need to add more pass rushers in the offseason. “We need another pass rusher,” Carroll said. “We really do. That’s why we went out and got Jason (Jones) last year. And we’re going to have to double it up. We need a couple of guys.” Bruce Irvin was a great draft pick, but...

Funny Tweets about Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll

On Sunday Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll iced the kicker and it backfired as Matt Bryant missed the first kick but made the second giving the victory to the Falcons. Overlooked in all of this is the fact that the Seahawks D allowed the Falcons to march down and get into field goal range quicker than it takes to set and forget a Ronco Rotisserie cooker chicken. As you can imagine...

Seattle Seahawks: The Magical Run Ends in Atlanta

The Seattle Seahawks rallied late in the forth quarter of their NFC divisional round playoff game to take a 28-27 lead over the Atlanta Falcons.  But it was not to be as the Falcons came back to win 30-28 after Matt Bryant kicked a 49-yard field goal. The players reacted to the loss after the game: QB Russell Wilson: “When the game was over, I was very disappointed.  But right...
