In a regular season game in 2011, the San Francisco 49ers got the better off the New York Giants. In that game, 49ers defensive back Carlos Rogers got the better of Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz. Following a big play on defense, Rogers did the unspeakable.Rogers began to celebrate by doing Cruz’s now famous salsa dance, and he did it right over Cruz, who made the celebration touchdown famous last season. In his book, “Out Of The Blue,” Cruz penned that he was less than pleased or impressed with Rogers’ imitation.“Then with his teammates cheering him on, he did a sarcastic salsa dance over me,” Cruz wrote.  ”The Candlestick Park crowd went ballistic, but I wasn’t laughing. It was a sign of disrespect. Instead of getting up and retaliating, though, I sat and watched Rogers finish his cheap Victor Cruz imitation. I promised to never forget it. I wasn’t sure when the opportunity would present itself but I was confident I’d get payback for that dance.”Cruz did get his payback in the NF

Week 6 WR rankings: Hakeem Nicks to play?

In the Week 6 WR Rankings one of the bigger questions is whether or not Giants WR Hakeem Nicks will in fact play against San Francisco. Giants can't allow 49ers to get to Manning again

The NFC title game was the low point for the New York Giants' offensive line last season. While Tom Coughlin's team won the contest and went on to win the Super Bowl, most of the linemen recall it was the game they let quarterback Eli Manning down, literally. Manning was sacked six times and hit six other times in the 20-17 overtime victory. Walking off the field, the leader...

He’ll instead be credited with a tackle for a loss.Phillips then asked, “Why didn’t they take away Strahan’s when he set record?”Phillips is referring to when Strahan broke the NFL’s single...

Giants defensive line slumping as 49ers loom

The New York Giants' defensive line is in a slump. The sacks and quarterback hits that marked the line's performance in the run to the Super Bowl last season have become few and far between. For the season, the group that features All-Pro defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and two-time Pro Bowl ends Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora has been limited to eight sacks and 14 overall...

Ex-Giants hope to help 49ers beat their old team

(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) It wasn't very difficult for Mario Manningham to leave the New York Giants after winning a Super Bowl with them. The fleet wide receiver is happy in his new home with the San Francisco 49ers, another championship contender that's making better use of Manningham than the Giants ever did. It's a different situation for...

Staley will have hands full vs. G-Men

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is drawing comparisons to some of the all-time greatest NFL linemen with his brilliant play. New York Giants Provide Early Drama But Win 41-27 Over the Browns

TweetThe New York Giants give their fans an early scare against the Cleveland Browns. They were down 17-7 in the first quarter, I'm sure it had some fans wondering if the team was going to make this a close one.No disrespect to the Browns but I personally wasn't nervous, just upset that New York found themselves down against what many consider to be the worst team in the...
