Ravens_flacco_against_69b1
If the Baltimore Ravens decide to let quarterback Joe Flacco walk after the 2012 NFL season, it may be the more fiscally responsible move, compared to signing him to a lucrative contract extension. Flacco is a good starting quarterback, but he is nowhere near as elite as he may believe. Elite quarterbacks can play well at home as well as on the road, but that is not the case with Flacco. Sure, the guy is a winner. That cannot be disputed. But the Ravens are a solid football team all around. They do not only win when Flacco has a great game, as was evidenced in last night’s 13-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was a road game, so, you could have predicted that Flacco would be nothing special. If you did forecast that, you would have been right. Flacco did not turn the ball over, which was key, but he did not exactly go out and win the game for Baltimore either. The bottom line is that Flacco just isn’t the same quarterback on the road that he is at home. And if he wants an elit...

Tweet Baltimore Ravens wide receiver/punt returner Jacoby Jones is quite the character and had quite the night Sunday against the Steelers. First, Jones capped of a 63-yard punt return for a touchdown with this hilarious dance called the “Choppa City Juke”: Later while being interviewed after the game by NBC’s Michelle Tafoya, Jones playfully flirted [...]

Jacoby Jones Flirts with NBC Reporter During Interview

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones has had some hilarious moments this season. After most touchdowns, Jones will offer up a new dance or something extraordinarily over the top. On Sunday night at the end of the Ravens’ victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jones did something again extraordinarily over the top but I’m not sure how many people in the media, especially...

Jacoby Jones Returns Touchdown, Does a Dance, and Flirst with a Reporter on Sunday Night Football

Reed wins appeal, avoids suspension

Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed has avoided a one-game suspension for late hits after an appeal. He instead will be fined $50,000. Reed was suspended for one game without pay on Monday by NFL vice president of football operations Merton Hanks for his third violation in three seasons of the rule prohibiting helmet-to-helmet hits against defenseless players. The third violation occurred...

Ravens FS Ed Reed Has His Suspension Reduced to Fine

Baltimore Ravens FS Ed Reed will play against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday after his one-game suspension was reduced to a fine by the NFL. Reed was suspended for violating the league’s policy of hits on defenseless players. “I do not believe that your actions were so egregious as to subject you to a one-game suspension without pay,” Ted Cottrell of the NFL’s appeal board...

Ravens take lead on special teams touchdown

The Ravens have settled down and now have the lead against the Steelers. Free agent pick up Jacoby Jones took a punt 63 yards to give the Ravens a 10-7 lead. Baltimore’s defense, particularly linebacker Paul Kruger, has been playing better since Pittsburgh’s initial drive of the game.

Ray Rice disrespects the Terrible Towel

Look out Ray….their coming for you. After the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Ravens runningback Ray Rice was seen exiting the field wearing a Terrible Towel on his head. Steeler linebacker LaMarr Woodley took to twitter reminding Rice of what happens when you disrespect the towel. “Bad idea ray just ask lendale white and tj whosyourmama.” ...

Ed Reed wins appeal of one-game suspension; receives $50k fine and will play Sunday

Tweet     The Baltimore Ravens head to San Diego for a matchup with the Chargers on Sunday and as of yesterday it looked as though the Ravens would have to try and improve on their 8-2 record without future Hall of Famer Ed Reed. The unnecessary roughness penalty he received on Sunday for the [...]

Ryan Clark Disagrees with Ed Reed Suspension

Normally, you couldn’t find a Pittsburgh Steelers player who would agree or take up for a Baltimore Ravens player. In this case, however, I think Steelers safety Ryan Clark can empathize with Ravens All-Pro safety Ed Reed being suspended and fined a game check for a third offense of a helmet-to-helmet hit. Clark spoke out via Twitter to voice support for Reed, and let people know...

Steelers Gunners Double-viced On Punt Return By Jacoby Jones

The 63 yard punt return for a touchdown by Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones was certainly a huge play in the game as it gave them the lead for good against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Head coach Mike Tomlin was asked about the return after the game and if the Ravens did anything special on the play. "It was a good effort by him," said Tomlin. "They did...

PITTSBURGH -- The Baltimore Ravens took control of the AFC North race Sunday night by doing one of the things they do best -- winning inside the division. The Ravens used Jacoby Jones' punt-return touchdown, two field goals and a strong defensive effort to edge the Pittsburgh Steelers 13-10 at Heinz Field. Baltimore improved to 8-2 and took a two-game lead over Pittsburgh...

Ravens, Steelers play even in third quarter

Not too much action in the third quarter of the rivalry game between the Ravens and Steelers. The Ravens couldn’t take advantage of a Byron Leftwich interception, but were still able to come up with a 39-yard field goal by Justin Tucker. The Steelers weren’t able to get in the end zone on a stout Ravens’ defense. They had to settle for a Shaun Suisham field goal. At the end...

Steelers Versus Ravens: Prediction & 7 Keys To The Game

The Pittsburgh Steelers look to stack their fifth win in a row Sunday night when they host division rival Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field. Below are 7 things to watch for specifically in this game along with my prediction at the end of it. In case you missed it, here is the Wednesday podcast preview of the game that features a great interview with Ravens beat writer John Eisenberg...

At the half, the Ravens lead the Steelers

As usual, this game is a dogfight between the Ravens and Steelers. Pittsburgh had the upper hand early, after a Byron Leftwich scramble of 31 yards. The Ravens settled in late. Leftwich has played well for Pittsburgh and Joe Flacco has done the same for the Ravens. The difference in this game is a Mike Wallace fumble. Also of note, tight end Dennis Pitta and running back Isaac Redman...
