The San Francisco 49ers have discovered that Colin Kaepernick is going to be the team’s starting quarterback going forward. Kaepernick brings a dynamic element to the 49ers offense that Alex Smith does not possess. The Nevada product put on a clinic on Saturday night, setting the record for the most rushing yards in a single game by a quarterback, rushing for 181 yards. The Niners are likely going to move Alex Smith this offseason. Smith’s contract calls for a $8.5 million salary in 2013, and San Francisco is not going to pay that for a backup. The former number one draft pick will likely be moved in a trade, but could likely be released outright. Moving Smith will create a void at the backup quarterback position with Scott Tolzien being the only other quarterback on the roster under contract. The Niners appear all in on the spread option offensive scheme and signing a backup quarterback that is more of a pocket passer makes little sense at this point. Will the San Francisco 49ers b...

  • Take a serious look at quarterback Vince Young. He's 6'-5",.. healthy,.. mobile,.. has a strong arm,.. has playoff experience,.. a proven winner in the NFL (31-19) and plays at a high level.... You can't go wrong by bringing this guy in for a TRYOUT....
