In a similar move to what many MLB teams have done in the wake of St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Josh Hancock death, the NFL went a step further by baning alcohol for all team functions.
As with the steroid issue, the NFL comes out stronger and with more intent than the MLB. Where Bud Selig sees this as a team by team matter, first year NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has made this a league matter, writing to all 32 teams, saying that "no constructive purpose is served by clubs continuing to make alcoholic beverages available, and that doing so imposes significant and unnecessary risks to the league, its players and others."
In the league's new form, "clubs are prohibited from providing alcoholic beverages, including beer, in any club setting, including in locker rooms, practice or office facilities, or while traveling, including on team buses or flights."

Yep, Gooddell is cracking down on bad behavior in the NFL. I think this will crack down on the percentages of rape, DUI's, fights, and reckless behavior among NFL players.
