Remember when Jeff Ireland asked Dez Bryant if his mom was a prostitute? He did apologize, but that line of questioning was never dismissed by the NFL. Only the NFLPA stood up against that. But, if you asked Manti Te’o if he is gay or if a player likes girls, the NFL frowns upon that. NFL to investigate report that Nick Kasa was asked at combine if he liked women. Any team found to violate league policies will be punished. — mike freeman (@realfreemancbs) February 27, 2013 More NFL statement: “It is league policy to neither consider not inquire about sexual orientation in the hiring process.” — mike freeman (@realfreemancbs) February 27, 2013 NFL goes on to say that the CBA prohibits discrimination against any player including on the basis of sexual orientation. — mike freeman (@realfreemancbs) February 27, 2013 I think all those questions are stupid, but what I would like the NFL to do is come up with some better guidelines in regard to how players are interview. You shouldn’t be able to ask if someone’s mother is basically a *****, that is away out of line. It shouldn’t matter if someone is gay or like girls, that has nothing to do with can they make a tackle or catch. You can ask about someone’s life, but you don’t have to do it in a disrespectful way. Doesn’t matter if you are Dez Bryant and Te’o everyone should be treated with respect.
