Found October 06, 2008 on NE Patriots Draft:
The NFL Trade Deadline will fall on Tuesday, October 14th this year. While trades rarely happen at the NFL Trade Deadline, there are some players that would like to be in different situations and contenders that need to find that missing piece. Let's take a look at a few deals that make sense (and some that don't), and check where Roy Williams will be stiffing delivery people next. Roy Williams (Lions) for Seahawks 2nd and 3rd Round Draft Picks Demarcus Ware (Cowboys) for Roy Williams (Lions) Chad Johnson (Bengals) for Raiders 2nd Round Draft Pick Lito Sheppard (Eagles) for Chad Johnson (Bengals) Laurence Maroney (Patriots) for Lito Sheppard (Eagles) Laurence Maroney (Patriots) for Cardinals 2nd Round Draft Pick Add any trades you'd like to see below -- be they realistic or not.

  • Tony Gonzalez wouldn't necessarily suprise me
  • None of the above trades have a chance in hell of happening...
  • dtriks right Maroney wouldnt be traded Lito I know wont be traded before the deadline and ya i'd like to see the cowboys be dumb enough to get rid of demarcus ware there best defensive player by far so romo can have another target... chad's not going anywhere
  • The Demarcus trade was actually on the table for a while
  • What'd you do? Draw a pretty picture in crayon of it happening and put it on your kitchen table? No way would Dallas give up Ware.
  • Yeah, DeMarcus Ware is quickly becoming one of the best pass rushers in the game. NO way i would trade him for Roy Williams.
  • ok, here's wat i see happening (in order of probability)
An overrated/recently injured WR to Oakland. and thus:
Anquan Boldin or Chad Johnson for conditional 2nd + 5th + one of those crappy receivers they have

A good wideout for Donovan McNabb to throw to:
Roy Williams / TJ Whosyourmama / Tony Gonzalez (yes he can catch/ is better than LJ Smith) for any combination of the following:
    a: Lito Sheppard
b: Greg Lewis, Hank Baskett, Sean Considine, or Reggie Clown
    c. maybe a 2nd or 3rd rounder
(hint hint...I know the Ford family well and they say that Williams will NOT be resigned next year, and Calvin Johnson is the future of the franchise, so why not trade him while you can get value)
