Last night the Bengals signed LB Keith Rivers, leaving DE Derrick Harvey (Jaguars) as the only unsigned first-rounder. Most fans are quick to launch verbal jabs in Harvey's direction, suggesting he should get into camp because: 1) He's the only unsigned first-round pick left; what the hell is taking so long? 2) The Jags have Super Bowl aspirations, and he's disrespecting his teammates and hurting his teams chances by falling behind on the playbook. 3) Harvey was expected to be selected midway through the first round, which means he should be thanking his lucky stars that he's slotted for any sort of top-10 payday. 4) It's simple math: Take a look at what Sedrick Ellis earned as this year's #7 selection, and then take a look at what last year's #8 earned, and then find some sort of happy medium.
