After a fairly lucky victory against the Lions, Houston is now 10-1 and is looking better by the day to garner home field advantage throughout the entire AFC postseason. New England is lighting up scoreboards regardless of who is out there on the gridiron while the Ravens are in the same ballpark as Houston is. They continue to dominate in the close contests by simply just winning. They are far from sexy or flashy, but they know how to end up victorious at the end of the day. New England and Denver happens to have two of the greatest quarterbacks to have ever lived, so they may get an edge but the Broncos offense may take a tumble if their running game does not produce. Willis McGahee (torn MCL) is out until the AFC title game as of now, which means the wild cards could perhaps upset them on Wild C...

Foster has dislocated finger popped back in

You really think a beast of a running back like Arian Foster was going to let something as minor as a dislocated finger keep him out of Thursday’s game against the Detroit Lions? Not a chance. The Houston Texans back dislocated his pinky on a run in overtime, but he didn’t let it keep him down. He calmly walked over to his sideline where a trainer (or coach?) pushed it back into...

Texans coach Kubiak concerned as injuries mount

(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By CHRIS DUNCAN AP Sports Writer A day after another thrilling victory, Houston coach Gary Kubiak was most worried about a growing number of injuries. The Texans (10-1) rallied late to force overtime for the second straight game and beat Detroit 34-31 on Thanksgiving. Kubiak was back at Reliant Stadium early Friday morning and mulling...

Owen Daniels has awesome "turkey-cutter" touchdown celebration (Video)

Clearly, the best touchdown celebration of the 2012 NFL Thanksgiving Day games came from Houston Texans tight-end Owen Daniels. After scoring on a 9-yard pass from Texans QB Matt Schaub, Daniels decided to cut up a fake turkey and serve it to the Lions fans: (Courtesy of Bleacher Report)

The Rundown: Texans vs. Lions

Possibly one of the oddest games we can remember from the Houston Texans history of games, but how amazing is it to see them sitting at 10-1? After a grueling stretch of three games and a short week to play in their first Thanksgiving game, they pulled out another overtime victory over the Detroit Lions. After what could be called a game of some odd plays and situations, the Texans...

Houston Texans: How Concerned Should They be About the Defense?

The one constant for the Texans in their dominant start to the 2012 season was the stellar and dominant play of their Wade Phillips led defense. Hovering in the top three in the league all season, if you allowed their offense to score more than 20 points, it was a good bet you weren’t going to beat them. But something has changed over the past two weeks. In contests against the...

Reed leaves vs. Lions with groin injury

Houston linebacker Brooks Reed has left its game against the Detroit Lions with a groin injury. His return is questionable. Reed appeared to be favoring his left leg as he gingerly walked toward the sideline in the first quarter Thursday. He later was carted toward the locker room. The Texans were already down a linebacker because starter Tim Dobbins was inactive because of a shoulder...

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: Lions Edition

This Thanksgiving brought us another high scoring thriller between the Houston Texans and the Detroit Lions. The game which going in many thought would be tough, lived up to its billing.  The Texans came into this game shorthanded on the defensive side of the ball with starters Shaun Cody and Johnathan Joseph out. The Texans had just come out of a brawl with the Jacksonville Jaguars...

The Houston Texans Eke Out A Win Against the Lions in Detroit

The Lions gave everything they had to end their eight game Thanksgiving Day losing streak before falling three points short in OT to the Texans.

Houston Texans Travel To Detroit For Thanksgiving Day Showdown

Houston leads the AFC, and will control their own destiny in the race for home-field advantage. Up until last week the Texans appeared to be dominant in the conference. In a real David and Goliath match up, Jacksonville nearly followed through with the upset as they took the Texans to overtime. The 1-8 Jaguars did not appear to be the team that would knock Houston off. It is because...

Texans top Lions 34-31 in OT after coach's mistake

Justin Forsett scooted up the middle and lunged forward while a couple of Detroit defenders closed in to stop him. His knee hit the ground, but the Houston running back hopped up quickly and took off toward the end zone. ''I know now that I was down, but I didn't think I was during the play,'' Forsett said. ''I didn't think my knee hit, and there...

Video: Lions get hosed by bad call and worse rule

Justin Forsett recorded the longest run in Houston Texans history in their Thanksgiving Day game against the Detroit Lions. It appeared as if Forsett was dropped after a decent gain, but the whistle was not blown and he continued running as everyone else let up. He ended up in the end zone 81-yards later. Watching [...]

Ndamukong Suh kicks Matt Schaub in the groin

In the first quarter of the Houstin Texans game against the Detroit Lions, Ndamukong Suh attempted to sack Matt Schaub. He did not get to the quarterback in time but still knocked Schaub down. Suh (whether intentional or not) decided to kick low and landed a blow right to Matt Schaub’s groin <

Waiver Wire: Week Twelve

This weeks waiver wire should be attached to the injury report. All five are related to an injury or returning to an injury. It’s that time of year in the NFL. Ronnie Hillman – RB Den: Willis McGahee is out six to eight weeks and Ronnie Hillman is in. He had 12 carries for 43 yards last week but that is sure to be upped as we move on. Lance Ball will steal some carries, let...
