The Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons were going in two completely different directions. With no hope for the playoffs, the Panthers were turning it on last week in a big win. On the other side of the 50, the Falcons were in the wildcard hunt, but losing a close game to the Texans last week….. now Carolina was set for a NFC South battle.
It was a tail of two halves. With the Panthers up by 13, Atlanta came out in the second half and didn't look back. Atlanta wins by putting up 24 unanswered; 31-23
The first turning point occurred in the first quarter. With Atlanta going up 7-0, Carolina went on a 9 play, 74 yard drive, capped with a Cam Newton fake draw TD pass (ala Tim Tebow in his college days.
The second turning point was after a Cam Newton pick. On the second play Matt Ryan used play action to open up Jacquizz Rogers for a 31 yard touchdown…Matt was back.
