This game is an absolute must win, but I don't think anybody is confident in this team right now, certainly not me. I'm abandoning the Haiku format and going back to the straight up preview.

When the Packers have the ball

The Seahawks secondary has played atrociously this year, and not just Brian Russell. The whole group has been playing way below their talent level. This has to stop. The Packers are going to try to test this unit with deep passes from Rodgers. Look for him to be involved early and often in this game. How the secondary plays in response will determine the outcome.

Also, last year the Packers killed us with runs to the left side, where our run defense just sucks. They will do that again, and we need to do something to stop it. I would put Red Bryant in with the second unit Defensive Tackles. He's raw, but he's big and probably better against the run than Terrill or Green.

When the Seahawks have the ball

OK, our worse case scenario has come true. Charlie Frye will start this game as injuries have flipped the depth chart upside down, with Seneca backing up and Hass only playing in an emergency. The Packers will surely stack the line to stop our running game and force us to throw the ball.

If Charlie Frye has really improved from his time in Cleveland, here's where it will show. The good thing about this long term is that it will help us figure out what we want to do with Frye, but right now, it couldn't be worse.

On Special Teams

I am very, very happy we got Justin Forsett back. That was lucky, and we should never have let him go. With him back and Robinson having had time to learn the offense a little, I wonder if Bumpus is still our main returner. If he screws up, no way he makes the roster next week.

Picks
IND over BAL
MIN over DET
NO over OAK
CIN over NYJ (upset of the week)
ATL over CHI
TB over CAR
WAS over STL
HOU over MIA
JAX over DEN
DAL over ARI
SD over NE
NYG over CLE

GB over SEA, 34-10

Prove me wrong. Go Hawks!
