Congratulations are in order for NFL free agent wide receiver Andrew Hawkins, who just earned a master’s degree from Columbia University — an Ivy League school.

For the Culture. @Columbia

Hawkins entered the NFL in 2011 after playing college football for four years at Toledo. He also played with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL before signing on with the Cincinnati Bengals.

In 2014, Hawkins became a member of the Cleveland Browns, where he played for three seasons. Starting in 2015, Hawkins began working towards his degree. He traveled extensively from his various home bases to New York to attend school while still maintaining his football career, per Seth Walder of the New York Daily News.

At the age of 31, Hawkins now remains available on the NFL’s free agency market. His dream is to eventually become an NFL general manager.

Hawkins earned his master’s degree in sports management, and as we can see from his Instagram post, he did so with a stellar 4.0 GPA.

We wish him good luck in his future endeavors.
