Great memory, great safety. You will be missed.
The Green Bay Packers have released Nick Collins. It appears that, this morning, The Green Bay Packers have informed Nick Collins and his agent that he will be released. Looks like Mike McCarthy and Teddy T don’t want to risk having Collins being permanently injured while on their watch. Nick Collins was a great safety. He had speed, could read the offense and had a very rare knack for ball and play making ability. We all saw how the Packers defense fared without Collins last year……it was ugly….FUGLY….and now the Packers must draft to fix this position. Teddy T, “In Teddy We Trust”, but you had better address the safety position in tomorrow’s draft. If we have to watch Charlie “Salt and” Peprah cover the field with his cement shoes for another year I may puke. So, tomorrow I will be doing a pre draft analysis….you can bet Safety has moved up on my list.
On a human note, I am not sure what I would do if I were Nick Collins. He is 28 years old, three time pro bowler, has a super bowl ring…..and likely has some cash. However, if cleared by the docs, he could have more football ahead of him. I leave it to you losers, what would you do if you were Nick Collins……keep playing……retire (he is a father, has family to think about)? Also, what if you are the Vikings? You know how they love to pick up former Packers…..would you sign him? Risk putting him out there?
Good day losers.
BEST OF MAXIM
Today the Green Bay Packers announced that they have officially released former Pro Bowl safety Nick Collins, who was attempting to make a comeback from a horrific next injury and rather than allow him to attempt to play again, risking his health in the process, the Packers have informed Collin’s agent Alan Herman that he has been released according to Tom Silverstein...
According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Green Bay Packers have notified safety Nick Collins that he will be released.
Collins suffered a serious neck injury this past season and this might be a sign that the Packers aren’t very confident in him being able to continue his career.
Collins was scheduled to make $3.45 million in 2012 and $4.35 million for the 2013 season.
Former quarterback Borel will compete for a job at receiver
One of the most interesting - albeit hardly one of the most important – battles in training camp figures to be between Diondre Borel and Tori Gurley for the final wide receiver spot on the roster. Both undrafted free agents distinguished themselves last summer and both were given raises by general manager Ted Thompson...
