Found December 26, 2013 on Eagles Addict:
Nick Foles and this Philadelphia Eagles team are set to play their biggest game of the year this week, in Dallas, under the bright lights of Sunday Night Football.  This game is for all the marbles; winner gets to play in the tournament, loser gets to watch the tournament. These are the types of games everybody loves…the fans, the players and especially the television networks! However, with all the hype and excitement that surrounds a game with this much meaning comes a large amount of pressure for the coaches and players.  Coaches can over-think things and players can press by trying to do too much on the field and getting away from their game. So, let’s talk about pressure and what role it may have this week… Mental pressure comes in two forms: internally and externally.  Externally, teams can feel pressured by the fans who expect a lot out of them and also by top-level people within their organization (for example, an owner who may fire a coach if he doesn’t win this game). Eagles-Cowboys Rematch Will Be Different

Nick Foles' struggles against the Dallas Cowboys is the one glaring downer on his otherwise mostely spotless 2013 campaign. On Sunday, he and his teamates have a chance at redemption. (Image via Philly.com) The one enigma of Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles magical maiden voyage under Chip Kelly is the first game against the Dallas Cowboys back on October 20th.  In that...

Foles still hears about 1 bad game vs. Cowboys

Nick Foles has a new nickname that's appropriate this time of year: Saint Nick. Foles hardly resembles jolly, old Santa Claus, but he's given fans of the Philadelphia Eagles plenty of gifts this year. They want one more Sunday. A victory over the Dallas Cowboys (8-7) would clinch the NFC East title for the Eagles (9-6) and secure the No. 3 seed in the conference. It'...

Chip Kelly is not scared of Tony Romo or Kyle Orton, he will prepare the same way

Whether Tony Romo or Kyle Orton starts at quarterback, Kelly said, his team’s preparations won’t change. “I don’t think it changes their offense much just because of who the backup is,” Kelly said. “I think they’re going to stick with what they do. They obviously have playmakers in Dez Bryant and [Jason] Witten. They’re going […]

The Philadelphia Eagles: The Shadow Contender

Early in the season, we collectively made the decision that the NFC West and NFC South are great and NFC North and NFC East are bad. On the whole, that’s true. The first two divisions are eons better than the second two, at least in terms of how their teams have performed this year. Where we’ve collectively failed, though, is in our assumptions about what will happen in the...

McCoy, Peters named to Pro Bowl, Foles, Mathis, Jackson named alternatives

LeSean McCoy and Jason Peters will represent the Eagles in the Pro Bowl for the second straight season. (Photo Courtesy of USA Today) The NFL announced the Pro Bowl rosters on Friday night and with the Philadelphia Eagles on the cusp of an NFC East title, two members of the Eagles are going to be a part of the NFL’s all-star contest.  Running back LeSean McCoy and tackle Jason...

Philadelphia Eagles: Keys For Success In Week 17

The Philadelphia Eagles simply manhandled the Chicago Bears this past Sunday in a game that had meant nothing for the Eagles, and everything for the Bears. Now, the Eagles prepare to take on the Dallas Cowboys in the season finale. The winner of this game wins the NFC East division, and clinches a playoff berth. The loser will more than likely be watching the playoffs from the comfort...

Foles, McCoy, Jackson putting up big numbers

Chip Kelly preached since his arrival in Philadelphia that he has an equal-opportunity scoring offense. The numbers support him. Nick Foles, LeSean McCoy and DeSean Jackson are on their way to setting team records in passing, running and receiving. Of course, all that matters for the Eagles (9-6) is winning the NFC East title. They need a win or tie at Dallas (8-7) on Sunday night...

FACT OR FICTION? – Eagles/Cowboys, Flyers Schedule, Giroux on Team Canada, Nick Foles in Pro Bowl

Fact or Fiction returns this week with Dan Schmidt and Dave Bennett squaring off to debate four all-new Philadelphia sports topics.  Today, they’ll be discussing this Sunday’s showdown for the NFC East between the Eagles and Cowboys, the Flyers remaining 23 games before the Olympic Break, whether Claude Giroux deserves a spot on Team Canada, […]The post FACT OR FICTION? ...

Wherefore art thou, Romo?: Cowboys QB a question-mark for Sunday’s game against Eagles

A meeting between Nick Foles and Tony Romo is "unlikely" due to Romo's back injury. Cowboys personell are still suggesting Romo could play on Sunday. (Photo Courtesy of ESPN.com) It appeared the Philadelphia Eagles were getting an early Christmas present in the wake of Week 17’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported yesterday that Cowboys...

Thursday Morning Quick Hits

The purpose behind Quick Hits is to catch you up on the most important news, notes, and links that you may have missed from the day prior. Without further ado, here are Thursday’s quick hits: 1. Nick Foles is done stressing over the first meeting against the Cowboys and is ready to bounce-back in the season finale. 2. The Eagles defense has played relatively well in the latter...

Week 17 Fantasy Football Sleepers

It’s frustrating to draft a solid team and then have to sweat over who you start and bench. It gets worse when you bench a guy who goes off for a huge game while your fantasy team loses because you made the wrong choice. I’ve always written a start/sit column to solve those problems, but this year I don’t care about you. Okay I’m just kidding, but I am doing things a bit...

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys: 2013 Week 17 NFL Pick

Philadelphia Eagles (9-6) at Dallas Cowboys (8-7) I was kicking myself when I saw this line opened at Philadelphia -3. It was at Dallas -3 a week ago and there was no reason not to take that, even before Philadelphia demolished Chicago last week. For one, Philadelphia is obviously a better team than the Cowboys, so that line suggesting these two teams were equal was obviously not...

Eagles Christmas Presents: The Naughty and The Nice

With the Christmas spirit surrounding us, I decided to take a look back at some of the presents the Eagles have given us this season which we should be thankful for receiving and some that have made us look forward to 2014. With the Eagles being in position to win the NFC East that almost no one saw coming, there is much more love than hate to spread around. That all could change...

NFL Week 17 Top 3 Picks

Season To Date: 32 – 16   Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys- Tony Romo likely will not play in this game.  Even if he were healthy the Eagles present a major problem.  Philadelphia and Nick Foles are a much better team than the one that Dallas beat in October.  The offense is clicking and the Eagles are improved on defense, as well.  The Cowboys are a train wreck...

Santa Claus Crashed Chip Kelly’s Press Conference (Video)

Life is good in Philadelphia when the Eagles are winning.  Nick Foles is the man, Shady McCoy is going to win the rushing title, and Chip Kelly has the most explosive offense in the NFL. Life is good. That’s why Kelly could do nothing but laugh when Santa Claus crashed his press conference to bring gifts. The Eagles clinch the NFC East with a win over the Cowboys. Kelly’s inital...
