Eagles backup quarterback Nick Foles has been all but counted out as a projected starter in Philadelphia.  There were reports that Kelly and the Eagles were going to trade Foles. Foles is still around, and as the Eagles begin their off-season workouts and preparations, Foles thinks he can run Kelly’s uptempo spread offense, and as he told USA Today, “he’s ready to run it.” “Yeah, I do. I wouldn’t be here right now if I didn’t, I think I’d be somewhere else,” Foles told reporters Tuesday on the second day of the team’s workouts. “Yeah, I believe I fit here, I want to be here, I love this team and I love this city, so this is where I want to be.” “That’s any quarterback. If you want to be a quarterback in this league or Pee-Wee, you’ve got to believe, ‘Hey, I’m the guy,’” Foles said. “If you think you’re going to be a backup, you’re going to be a backup.” Foles wouldn’t get into the details of Kelly’s offense, but compared it to the offense he ran while at Arizona. “I ran a high-tempo offense in college. You don’t really get caught up in it,” Foles said. “I think there are different kinds of quarterbacks and if you look at any offense, there are different kind of quarterbacks but you play to the strengths of whoever the quarterback is for the team. There is tempo for the offense, as you said, and that is just running plays really fast and then there are fast quarterbacks who can run really fast. There are two different things.”
