ATLANTA - DECEMBER 06: Michael Vick #7 of the Philadelphia Eagles rushes upfield against the Atlanta Falcons at Georgia Dome on December 6, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

For the second straight preseason game Michael Vick was knocked out early, getting leveled on a deep pass play on his sixth play. X-rays were negative on Vick and he was diagnosed with bruised ribs. Vick passed for five yards and rushed for five. In came rookie Nick Foles who again was impressive throwing for two touchdowns and passing for over 200 yards. Foles threw both touchdown passes to Clay Harbor for 1 and 3 yards. Finishing off the game was Trent Edwards who moved the offense leading the Eagles to a field goal in fourth quarter action. Edwards was 6-11 for 59 yards.

The 27-17 Eagles win against a Patroits team that did not play their starters did not live up to the hype ( if you can hype a preseason game). Offensively during Vicks time under center the Eagles did little and Vick did not look sharp. In Vicks only run for 5 yards, Vick showed he has not learned to slide, diving forward leaving himself open for yet another hit. One cannot expect his style of play to change, the scene of Vick leaving the field one we will see again. Making Foles performance all the more significant. Foles has certainly already earned the backup role after two games.
