Nico Collins Week 16 Injury Status Offers MASSIVE Update
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Nico Collins is nearing a return to action.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Houston Texans star receiver, Nico Collins is set to make his return for the club’s week 16 game against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon.

The 24-year old wideout injured his calf early on during the Texans’ week 14 blowout loss against the New York Jets. Collins would sit out of last week’s contest, along with star Quarterback, CJ Stroud, who’s battling a concussion, in addition to fellow breakout WR, Nathaniel ‘Tank’ Dell. Despite low pre-season expectations and a bevy of injuries late in the season, the Texans would outlast AFC South rivals, the Tennessee Titans in week 15 en-route to a 19-16 overtime victory to improve to 8-6 on the season.

Nico Collins’ 2023 Breakout Season

The 2021 third-round pick is in the middle of the best season of his young career as the former Michigan Wolverine has amassed the 1,000 yard mark for the first-time in his three-year professional tenure. Collins has caught 60 passes for 1,004 yards, and six touchdowns thus far in 2023-24.

The Houston Texans are currently locked into a three-way tie atop the AFC South alongside the Jacksonville Jaguars (leaders) and Indianapolis Colts, who all sit at 8-6. However, the Texans would be the lone team of the trio on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs due to tiebreakers.
