Nightmare players that the Packers hope their NFC North rivals don't take

The Green Bay Packers have obviously to focus on themselves, but the NFC North is trending in a positive direction. Every team in the division has a clear path to be successful as soon as this season, and the draft is a huge factor in that regard.

Therefore, failed draft classes from the rivals would be big for the Packers short- and long-term success.

With that in mind, let's evaluate who the Packers don't want in the NFC North playing for the other teams.

Chicago Bears - WR Rome Odunze

Caleb Williams is not here because he is a fait accompli, the Bears are going to take him. The Bears are in a strange situation, because they have two top 10 picks, but only two other picks in the entire draft.

So, there are two good scenarios for them — trading down from nine to accumulate picks, or getting one of the top three receivers of the class. Malik Nabers could be here, too, but the chances of that happening are not that high. Rome Odunze is an extremely talented receiver, with a great ability to generate extra yards.

If the Bears can put together a receiver room with DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and Rome Odunze, they will set up Caleb Williams for success.

Ideally for the Packers, the Bears would keep the 9 pick with Odunze and Nabers off the board.

Minnesota Vikings - QB Drake Maye

Those who don't think Caleb Williams is the best quarterback of the class say that this title goes to Drake Maye. And there's a realistic scenario in which both players go to the NFC North. Maye is a prototypical quarterback prospect, with size, arm talent, and ability to operate an offense.

The Vikings would have to trade a lot of capital to move up, but Maye alongside Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Christian Darrisaw, and TJ Hockenson would have the chance to be scary.

Detroit Lions - CB Cooper DeJean

The Lions' secondary is questionable at best, and the cornerback room is worse after the team was forced to release Cam Sutton. It's difficult to imagine a scenario where Cooper DeJean falls to 29, but he would be an absolute perfect fit for Detroit.

He can be an outside zone corner, play in the slot or as a strong safety. DeJean and Brian Branch would be an extremely talented and versatile duo, allowing a high number of alignment possibilities.
