--The Seahawks have a receiver they awarded a $15 million signing bonus, and he's around and making a difference. Singletary said T.J. Houshmandzadeh "adds more to what they already had."
--The Seahawks also managed to sign a player at No. 4 money despite the fact some mock drafts had him going No. 1 overall. LB Aaron Curry has replaced Julian Peterson, who was sent to Detroit, and he's doing pretty much exactly what Peterson had been doing in previous seasons.
--Singletary said he hopes the play of David Baas and Adam Snyder will improve this week now that they've had another "week under their belts." Even with that, veteran Tony Pashos is expected to work into the mix a little more at right tackle, along with Snyder, this week.
--It'll be a cover-by-committee, as the 49ers look to contain second-year tight end John Carlson, who had 95 yards receiving and two touchdowns in the opener against the Rams.
