When linebacker Rey Maualuga was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2009, it was presumed that he would be a second-tier force for the team for an extended amount of time.
Now that he is a free agent, defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer has spoken with the team’s website about just how good the former USC product is.

The Nationwide Series team that had two cars involved in the
horrific multi-car wreck during Saturday's Drive4COPD 300 at
Daytona -- including Kyle Larson's car, which vaulted off another
car and into the catch fence, showering parts into the stands and
injuring at least 28 -- is under scrutiny for possible rules
violations by NASCAR.
As we continue the Team Needs series for the 2013 NFL Draft, we proceed to the team with the twenty-first overall pick; the Cincinnati Bengals. While the team improved in several aspects over the 2011 team, the season ended the same way with a wild card loss in Houston to the Texans.
This team is flush with young talent and a quarterback who didn’t suffer any kind of sophomore...
Bengals have a lot of tough decisions to make over the next couple weeks. A big one is figuring out how to keep linebacker Ray Manaluga from hitting the free agent market in a couple weeks. Bengals coaches had this to say to NFL.com “He’s one of the guys you got to get back in the fold,” Marvin Lewis told Around The League’s Gregg Rosenthal on Sunday. “(Maualuga) is, as...
On Sunday, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis was a guest on Around The League with Gregg Rosenthal, and addressed last week's rumor that the team would "pass on re-signing" linebacker Rey Maualuga. "He's one of the guys you got to get back in the fold," Lewis said of the soon-to-be free agent.
The Cincinnati Bengals are on the rise, but in order to say they arrived, they have to overtake the Houston Texans.
Defensively they are on par, ranking 7th against the pass, and 12th against the run. Defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer feels they are closing the gap on Houston, but the Bengals still need to add more talent.
“I think we’re really close,” Zimmer said on the...

FANTASY FOOTBALL ANALYSIS
In 2011, as a rookie, Green burst onto the scene as a rookie, totaling 1057 yards receiving as well as 7 TDs. Last year, he didn’t fall into the dreaded sophomore slump that some analysts feared would be coming with Green and fellow 2nd year QB Andy...
Over the past few days, I have taken a look at the positions that have significant needs to be addressed either through free agency or the draft. I put a poll with each to gauge your opinions on how the Bengals should approach each position. And you have spoken. With a little more info now that the Combine is complete, let’s recap.
Running Back: This position drew the strongest...
Returning to the Desert… Making four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) starts in the 2012 season for Turner Scott Motorsports, Kyle Larson visited Phoenix International Raceway last fall in the No. 4 Chevy Silverado. Though it was his first time at the one-mile track, Larson made an impressive appearance; qualifying sixth, leading 43 laps and finishing second– his best...
The offensive line is not slated for an overhaul like the running backs or linebackers, and it isn’t in need of a significant addition like safety or receiver. But there is still a significant move to be made: re-signing Andre Smith. If the front office cannot get that deal done, then there will be another position of need to address in free agency or the draft.
If you missed them...

Heroics. Ordinary NASCAR fans enjoying the Nationwide Series race Saturday afternoon acted heroically when fellow race fans were injured following the last lap crash. No fan expected to be in danger when they entered the Speedway that day but, when disaster struck, fans helped fans to make sure everyone was alright. In other sporting events, there is little to...
