There's no deal close with Jared Gaither after the agent for the offensive tackle spoke with the Ravens on Wednesday, a source confirmed. It was the first talks between the sides since the season ended. Gaither didn't play a snap in the preseason or the regular season because of a back injury. A day after the Ravens' playoff loss at Pittsburgh, a source told The Sun that Gaither wasn't expected to be retained if he was an unrestricted free agent this year. Under the 2010 NFL rules, Gaither isn't a free agent and the Ravens will likely tender him as a restricted free agent this month (although he is expected to become free agent when the new collective bargaining agreement is reached). On Aug. 5, he suffered what has been described as a thoracic disk injury. Gaither practiced once (Sept. 29) before getting put on IR.
