Free agent DB Charles Woodson left Denver without a deal after visiting with the team Wednesday, reports the Denver Post.
Despite leaving without a deal, the Broncos still look like the favorites to land him. He also has drawn interest from the Carolina Panthers and Oakland Raiders.
The big sticking point for Woodson that should inevitably bring him back to Denver is his wish to play for a contender, and the Broncos should be able to work out a deal as they have currently about $7 million in cap space.
Chris Wesseling of NFL.com writes: 'Denver's decision-makers believe Woodson would give the Broncos' secondary a much-needed ballhawk, The Post's Mike Klis said. Adding Woodson on top of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie would make the coaching staff feel better about a defensive backfield that was burned for three long touchdowns in the playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Now the Broncos just have to convince Woodson that he's the missing piece that will put them over the top.'
