There were no sighs of relief, no jumps for joy when the New York Jets found out they wouldn't have to worry about Rob Gronkowski this week. Sure, the New England Patriots lost perhaps the league's top playmaking tight end for a few weeks with a broken forearm. But Rex Ryan's team knew better than to celebrate. ''I don't know,'' Ryan said, shaking his head. ''They have five tight ends on their roster, so I don't know if they'll put another guy in that role. I'm not sure how they'll do it.'' If Ryan has learned anything in his nearly four seasons as coach of the Jets, it's that Bill Belichick usually finds a way to win no matter who's out there - or isn't - on the field for the Patriots. Ryan also knows New England can change the personnel, but as long as it's still Tom Brady's bunch, it'll be a tough task. ''When you look at him,'' Ryan said, ''you can almost say he...

Tom Brady warns Patriots teammates: No video games

The New England Patriots are coming off a explosive 59-24 victory over the Indianapolis Colts and head into MetLife Stadium to face off with the high-flying New York Jets with only four days to prepare for their Thanksgiving night matchup. Nobody knows preparation against Gang Green better than Tom Brady (he is 17-5 vs. the Jets since 2001) and, while it's not hard to picture...

Week 11 Wrap: Brady, Manning, Help CBS to Gain For National Window

Though not facing each other, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning helped CBS to a double-digit increase for Sunday’s NFL national window. The Week 11 NFL national window, featuring Colts/Patriots, earned a 14.5 final rating and 23.6 million viewers on CBS — up 12% in ratings and 10% in viewership from coverage featuring Chargers/Bears last year (13.0, 21.5M), and up 2% and flat, respectively...

Will the latest embarrassing Jets loss to the Patriots cost Rex Ryan his job?

Rex Ryan is no stranger to his New York Jets being embarrassed at home by the New England Patriots. Last season, the Patriots traveled to New York and beat the Jets by a score of 37-16. Thursday’s loss was even uglier, as New England dominated in all phases of the game en route to a 49-19 Thanksgiving Day loss on national television. If you thought the Jets had questions heading...

New York Jets Fact or False: Thanksgiving and Rivalry Edition

Happy Thanksgiving, Jets fans! After a much-needed victory in St. Louis last week, the Jets find themselves in a familiar, yet unfamiliar, spot in the Rex Ryan era. What’s familiar about tomorrow night’s game against New England is that the Jets always seem to find themselves in a pivotal point of their season when matching up against the Patriots for the second time in the 17...

Turkey Day Night Cap – New England Patriots vs New York Jets

After everyone is full of turkey, or if you are Canadian like me and just like football, the NFL has an AFC East rivalry game featuring the (7-3) Patriots and the (4-6) New York Jets. There is definately no love loss here as this is one of the better rivalry in the NFL. We all no the story lines – Belichick vs Rex, Brady vs Jets defense, Sanchez vs Tebow…  and so on. Both teams...

Rex Ryan defends Bill Belichick... wait, what?!

The New York papers might want to make fun of Bill Belichick but Rex Ryan is having none of that. With his team trailing the Patriots in the division by essentially four games (Pats hold tie-breaker) he's not in a position to trash talk. In fact he went the opposite direction and went to bat for Belichick in the face of his criticism for leaving Gronkowski in for the extra point...

Patriots Embarrass Jets 49-19

Steve Gregory (28) had an amazing game last night against the Jets compiling an interception,  forced fumble, and fumble recovery for a touchdown. The New England Patriots shined in all aspects of the game on Thanksgiving, their offense marched all over the Jets defense, defensively they played their best game of the season, and their special...

Rex thinks Tebow will be ready Sunday

Rex Ryan anticipates Tim Tebow will be ''ready to go'' in the New York Jets' next game against the Arizona Cardinals in spite of the backup quarterback's two broken ribs. The Jets coach said Monday that the team will see how Tebow does during the week. Tebow was in uniform but didn't play Thursday night in the Jets' 49-19 loss to the New England...

Turn On The Jets Stock Watch – Jets/Patriots Preview Edition

It’s a bit of a shame that the Jets play on a short week against the Pats this week because I would like to savor that curb-stomping Rex Ryan and his defense handed to former Jets coordinator Brian Schottenheimer’s current St. Louis Rams offense just a little bit longer. After all, we haven’t had all that much to be pleased with this year, right? It sure was sweet to be on...

Week 12 AFC East game picks: Patriots at Jets

Lead writer Nick St. Denis and AFC East Daily contributors Dan Begnoche and Sean Donovan pick the Thanksgiving divisional slugfest between the New England Patriots and New York Jets.Nick's take: Ah... Thanksgiving dinner, beer and Jets vs. Patriots. Few things are better. Rex Ryan will have Gang Green ready, and the Jets will divide their rushing attempts evenly between Bilal...

No Huddle – Crucial Win In St. Louis Edition

4-6 is not the type of record to go celebrating in the Meatpacking District over. The way New York athletes often do after big victories. Ending a three game skid and moving beyond a “Terrible Tim” storm that threatened to derail focus on the Rams is. The Jets win over St Louis has seemingly calmed the Florham Park madness down for the time being but more importantly, has moved...

Patriots Embarrass Jets, 49-19: Hero and Zero of the Game

The New York Jets looked a lot like the team we all know they are tonight. This team has some serious problems and the answer is NOT Tim Tebow! I think it starts at the top, so Rex Ryan is going to have to face the facts: his team is in disarray and he has no idea how to fix it.On the other side of the field was the New England Patriot, leader of the division and clearly on their...
